The ACA passed both houses and was signed into law by the president. The Supreme Court upheld the law as constitutional. The GOP knowing they couldn't repeal the law tried to use the threat of a shutdown to circumvent normal order and get their way. If your idiot pols hadn't gone out and bragged about shutting down the government you might be able to hoodwink some people into believing this big bag of BS but they did. Now your side is doing plenty of mental gymnastics to try to lay the blame at Obamas feet but it's not going to work. It's on record bro. Your guys have wet dreams about eliminating the federal government entirely and you can lie about it all you want it doesn't change the facts jack. You might as well just own up to it. No one is buying your nonsense.
A few yrs. down the road when the train finally wreck you will then realize that you are the real loser. Laugh all you want now but you will pay up with losss of jobs and doctors and poor health care for the masses. A good worldwide health care system will be ruined.

I fully expect you to not be fully briefed on current events..did you know the administration ran elderly people out of their homes because they sat on private land..have u heard about that? What about obama shutting down the online amber alert webpage but leaving michelles webpage up..u hear about that? Of course not. What about how he ordered the park service to remove water fountain handles in the parks..you wont hear about that on MSNBC.
Obama targeted things that would cause discomfort for americans so he could blame the republicans for it afterwards. Its calld politics...
To answer your shallow question:
Because it cost more to close them than it did to leave them open...the white house budget office decides what stays open and what closes. No surprise that his golf trips continued.

Republicans did not shut the government down. They passed numerous spending bills. If the republicans wanted everything ruined then why did they pass all those funding bills? If the republicans wanted to do damage to the country then why did they cave in at the last moment so we wouldnt default on our bills(which is a lie in itself)? Republicans gained zero from the shutdown. All they wanted was a 1 year wait on obamacare because the online exchanges are screwed up and they wanted all of congress and the senate to be under obamacare like we are.....obama said no
You dont know these things because you get your news from the stupid box every night. Take the blue pill
I hope that dumbass fox boos dont run off on your offspring. We just had an amber alert out of Ky into Wv a few days ago.

Who is we? And we are not the ones destroying it. Ever heard of HR 347? Your boy Obama knows about it. It's his bill. Just one of many violations including the most recent healthcare bill. Which violates it yet again.

Lmao...getting instruction from zaphod about the constitution. Priceless

I know enough to know that its illegal for obama to change or DICTATE whats in the health care law once its signed without an admendment vote by congress...

"Gravesí office pointed us to a letter from the Congressional Research Service, the nonpartisan think tank for Congress. The Congressional Research Service review listed 19 times the Affordable Care Act changed since it was passed in 2010. The report counted 14 public laws and five administrative actions that made a variety of modifications to the law."

http://www.coburn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm...

To combat the sticker shock of Obamacare's numerous requirements on health insurance premiums, the law creates expensive subsidies, which take the form of tax credits, for individuals who purchase a government-approved insurance plan. In order to avoid the appearance of a federal takeover of health care, the law ties the availability of these premium tax credits to an "Exchange established by the State." Importantly, the way the law was written, if tax credits are not available within a state, then the expensive employer mandate tax does not apply to companies within that state.

With so many states refusing to play the role the law's drafters envisioned, the Obama administration has embarked on a legally dubious effort to bypass the plain language of the law. Obama's IRS has issued a rule that delivers the expensive subsidies through federally run exchanges as well. If it stands, this extralegal rule will undermine the decision-making role offered to states by Obamacare, and cause hundreds of billions of dollars of taxes and spending not authorized by the president's health care law.

Nobody won except obama...Obama put a gun to americas head and caused as much pain as possible until he got his obamacare funded and an xtra trillion in spending. Even tho the republicans passed over 14 spending bills to keep everything running including the WW2 memorial he refused every single one of them and continued his jihad unless he got his obamacare and xtra trillion...and then managed to convince the uneducated masses it was the fault of republicans..he had full authority to fund whatever he wanted but he refused. How is that a victory for anybody?
Those who reject the Tea Party approach are winners. Obamacare was already funded before this foolishness from the Tea Party gang. The Republicans in the House were DESPERATE to look like the good guys with that amateur hour piecemeal stuff.

They lost. Simple as that.

You are completely wrong, Welfare makes up 19% of federal budget, add in the medical cards and that number goes to 35%, so of the $400 at least $140 goes to keeping up dead beats, and since basically 1/2 pay no taxes thats another 32.5%$130 covering the dead beats "fair share" like you liberal (communist) like to refer to taxes. So of the $400 $270 goes to keeping up someone else, I am sure the person paying the taxes would rather keep the money for their kids
That makes me nearly sick...I pay almost $400 in taxes every two weeks, so if your figures are right, I'm paying over $500 a month to keep the deadbeats on Hal Greer in their low income housing.

The percentages are wrong which makes the amounts he/she is saying you pay into welfare programs wrong. Plus he/she's upping his/her amounts by saying some people don't pay taxes which would not change the percentages. So that either means he/she is being dishonest to bolster the position or is just dumb.
I'm a she...hence the name Julie. According to percentages I'm seeing from various websites, about 10% of our tax dollars go to welfare. That's considerably less than what the other person reported. With that, I'm still paying about $100 too much per month on the non-working bums who live on the welfare system.

The government really needs to start drug testing everybody on welfare. I can't believe they're not doing that yet. After drug testing, I would bet 75%+ of people on welfare would be disqualified based on a positive drug test. Welfare people who test positive should be denied benefits for six months for a first positive drug test. During that 6 month period, they should be drug tested on a weekly or biweekly basis, and during that time the government should require them to work, such as picking up litter along the roadways in order to actually earn money after they test positive for drugs so that they don't starve to death. If, after getting back on welfare they test positive for drugs again, they should be denied benefits forever. Everyone on the welfare system should get random drug tests so that they don't know when they're being tested.

Additionally, people who are in welfare should not have the perks that working people have. They should have the basic needs, like electricity and water so they can cook and wash their clothes. They shouldn't be allowed to have the Internet at their homes nor should they have television. Cell phones are also out. They should be able to have a land line with 3-400 minutes per month so they can call places they find in the newspaper classifieds who are hiring. That's it. Maybe if they couldn't sit and home, text on their iPhones, watch tv, and screw all day, some of these people might actually go out and try to find a job.
