I worked there for several years untill 2009. I didn`t actually see or witness first hand any thing like that but I know for a fact the co`s brag about. There were plenty of other co`s who were striaght laced by the books guys and girls. I`m glad this happened. Maybe they`re hiring a better class of chracter. All I know is that they ran on a skeleton crew for years and the officers were all jumpy cause it creates a dangerous work enviroment. Given the nature of the job, a good offense is a strong defense. And 50% of the time, the inmates do need an attitude adjustment up side thier head. But nothing excuses bringing contraband into the jail or striking a non combative person, restrianed or not.
Yes there are plenty of inmates who just want to exploit weak leaks in the work force. But I never came across a single inmate who would not comprhimise his/her greivence with an officer if that officer was rational. Agian, I`m glad this happened.

Would it better to avoid the rigors and rudeness of prison, think about an iron lung with a feeding tube no movement horizontal for life. Yes it could be a feeding tube of the correct balance of nutrition. Or perhaps do not do the crime?
Mexico is one of many countries that do not provide much prison grub , the family members are allowed to bring in food , the guards may eat it.
Many prisoners in Mexico get real skinny and mean. The family oops did not get the message.
Get the message, not hard , do not get caught when a crime is your game.

What is the name of the man who was put on life support? Where can we send well wishes for this poor man's recovery? No one should be beaten that badly!

shut up. They only reason you want to know is because you have probably been an inmate and think you are going to jump on the band wagon of lawsuits to get some money. Go buy your drugs some other way.

Thank you for your concern. However due to the nature of the situation I can not release his name but I am his sister and would be glad to pass on good well wishes to him. Please keep him in your prayers. He has a long road ahead of him but I thank God for watching over him this far. Also for giving the family the strength to deal with this. This has been hard on our mother as she is 76 and he was living with her to help take care of her. Yeah he made a mistake but never the less he is human and he did not deserve what they done to him. Bless you! Thank you again. Looking forward from hearing from you again.

Been there, almost same situation only my brother survived by a hair. He took care of our parents too, who didn't make it after he was gone. When those others walk in our shoes, then they will know. When karma has not hit you yet, you run your mouth like it will never happen to a good person like you. It can happen to any of us. I hope your love one is not beaten by someone who CAN. The jails are a business and only hurts the families of the prisoners. The families are forced to buy commissary high prices in able for their love ones to have a fair meal. Look into it, it's all based on calories. They may place a 500 plus calorie brownie that is uneatable onto a 1200 calorie meal to satisfy the government or anyone who sees it fit to care. I did not care until my loved one was there. If you are lucky enough to have any kind of cash to send to your incarcerated loved one they have to pay unbelievable amounts for the least little thing like romaine noodles to a pillow. My brother was once left a pillow from inmate leaving and it was like winning the lottery. Be thankful for every little thing in your life. We take for granted all the good things we hAve and don't realize it until it is all gone.

To address some of the falsehoods on here, the state doesn't make a dime on the commissary. That is contracted to an outside company and they set the prices. The state has nothing to do with the pricing.

Same thing with the food. The food service is contracted to an outside company and the state has no say over it.

As with pillows, you cannot buy those on commissary. Those are provided by the state but we all have heard how overcrowded the jails are. Sometimes there are not enough pillows to go around so yes, some Inmates go without pillows. Some C.O.'s try to be as accommodating as possible and give them an extra blanket and a pillow case to serve as a pillow.

You have to realize that Inmates don't want to be in jail and often times they will get on the phone and whine to their families and tell them a bunch of lies about how bad it is so their family will try to do something to come up with some bail money to get them out.

It happens.

BlahBlah listen yeah ok maybe some do but however what they did to my brother was no lie and they no it was wrong and now the whole area knows. We are not talking about some bail money to get some one out anyways. We are talking about my brother being put on life support because of what the COs done to him. Pay attention to the conversation

Did you read the post above mine?

What I posted DID pertain to the conversation.

That is what we were talking about, I didn't bring it up. I responded to a post someone else made.

That is the way it works.

You need to pay attention to the conversation.

This thread is entitled 'Western Regional Jail'.

Not 'Some girls brother gets beaten at jail'.

I cant believe how rude and disrespectful some people can be on here. But hey say what you want. Just remember you dont know until you or someone you love as been put in that situation. However i do know karma is going to slap alot of people in the face over this one. For those of you that do care and have asked about my brother he finally got to come home. He still has a long road ahead of him learning to do things that he forgot will he was in the hospital and because of all the damage that was done to him. God and family has been our strength through all of this. I hope all of those who done this to him i know you will be seeing justice soon for your crime. You cant just about kill a man and get away with it. KARMA IS COMING FOR YOU!!!

I have been following the thread.

From what I read, the person didn't die.....she said he 'survived by a thread'.

I am not being a smart butt.

That post had some falsehoods in it that needed to be addressed. The state makes nothing from Commissary. I realize some people may not know that so I wanted to correct that falsehood.

Now anyone who says anything about the state making money off it will be lying and everyone will know it.

I didn't bring a new topic up, I merely corrected a falsehood someone else brought up.

I dont think that is right they can beat on someone and get sent there and be put in protective custody they should have to face the imates they have tortured. Protective custody is just pretty much telling them it is ok to do this and while you are there we will protect you. Thats some bs.

ok then i apologize. Just stressful situation and everyone wants to defend the guards. They didnt walk in that hospital and have to see what i did or the rest of his family. They need to be behind bars for this.
