My dad went in on august 10 th on a mental higeine they told us he was dehidrated and had jundace he didnt they called prestera august 11 th and left a message that they wanted to release him but he had that mental on him what did they want done he was in good health he had asbestoes from years of working in asbestas he was crazy off his meds at 3:00am august 12 th he went to the nurses station 3 rd floor where he was located at and told them he wanted to take a shower at 4:30 am an hour and a half latter they said they found him dead tryed to revive him and he was unresposive. What the hell happened it cost 2500.00 for an altopsy we cant afford that. Who leaves a unstable person alone for almost 2 hours alone? They took a perfectly healthy man and killed him... how why The funnral home said he died from a heart attact due to namonia he was not sick he did not have heart problems. I use to trust St Marys I am now scared I dont want them to kill me or my family members. Anyone got anything to add?

You say he was perfectly health?

But

You also say he was dehydrated and jaundiced. On some sort of meds that made him crazy when he was off them. And
He worked with asbestos for years.

None of this makes any sense.
A. If he worked with asbestos for years he wouldn't be healthy.
B. if he were in the hospital he wouldn't be "crazy off his meds". Hospitals don't deny people their medicine. Unless his medicine were heroin or something.
C. How do you know he didn't have heart problems? My spidey sense isn't picking up Dr from you.
D. Most people are left alone at 430 am. They're usually asleep.

I think maybe you just want someone to blame.

I only have one thing to add... Judging by your grammar and spelling, I would say you are dumber than a bag of rocks.

Exposure to asbestos increases the risk of developing pneumonia, and pneumonia can cause dehydration. Also, evidence suggests that heart attacks can occur in patients with bacterial pneumonia.

Humm sounds like we got us a Dr.Topix here lol regardless of the condition I feel patients should be checked on at least every 20 minutes! And if he was on the third floor where was the heart monitor? I doubt those can get wet. What are your thoughts Dr.Topix?

I'm sorry about your dad. It's perfectly normal and reasonable to want, and need, answers. We don't always get those answers, but wanting them is part of grieving. Don't let anyone make you feel bad by accusing you of looking for someone to blame. Again, I'm so sorry.

It doesn't really matter what you feel. 20 minute checks are not the standard of care. And all of the third floor is not a cardiac unit so he may not have had a heart monitor.

Actually yes, dehydration can kill you. His electrolytes could have been whacked, which can cause cardiac issues and even cardiac arrest. It sounds like unless you want to pay for an autopsy, you're not going to get any solid answers. He wasn't perfectly healthy, he had chronic medical problems both physical and mental. He wasn't perfectly healthy or he wouldn't have been in the hospital. It was not just that he was there on a mental hygiene order or he would not have been on any unit on the third floor.

I know you want answers, I have had family members die suddenly in the hospital and you always want answers. A lot of the time is just that there are few definite answers. All the physicians can do sometimes is just guess based on assessments, procedures, labs, and experience. Even an autopsy doesn't always give you the answers you want. Sorry about your father.

Really people, the guys dad was found dead, who cares about the grammar the man used to express himself. The fact is you MUST have medical release from a physician that states the person IS physically stable before you are ever admitted into a psyche unit, that being said a psyche pt. that was left alone ( especially a new admission ) should have been monitored closely. Even on the med surge floors nurses are required to round at minimum hourly. So to the ones who made the not nice comments, please educate yourself about policy and procedure before anymore comments
