Im from the Great State Of Michigan and I live in the south.I think the only way for Michigan to prosper is if we move back and support our state!People in the south are still fighting the north and south war it shows in there actions, they do not like people from the north!Im going home and looking forward to it!!

I can't believe the egnorance that I have read both in this article and comment.
Mr. Shelby is not the only person to go against the three big auto makers. I work for a auto suplier so follow the story closely. I believe the auto makers will get the bail out. I'm still not sure it will be enough to help. Time will tell. This is not an Alabama problem, this is an American problem. I love the people here in Alabama. And love Alabama. I was raised in Chicago, graduated high school there. It's time we all stick together No north or South, just American !

I'm a GM retiree and abhor Shelby. But, I don't think a boycott of a State, just because they have a buffoon running the circus, is a good idea. What nabout Tennessee and Corker?

Everyone who is upset due to the senate turning down the bridge loan can fight back against the 2 rebublican senators that fought so hard against it. Robert Corker from Tennessee and also Richard Shelby of Alabama.I urge everyone when its time to relect these 2 union bashers to help anyone who is running against them!I will go to the state of Alabama and campaign and help the democrat opponent win against Shelby, his election is in 2010.

I'm open to any idea that promises to hurt those states (economically) or those senators (politically).

Perhaps some of us Northerners can move south and learn to act and talk like a southerner. Next we can slowly inculcate them with progressive ideas about labor and other issues.
