Wow,I would just like to say that im from Huntington Station,born and raised,proud of it too.Yes there are "hood activitys" in the Station as well as South Huntington..gangs are everywhere and drug use is everywhere.Huntington Station isnt the only town with hustlers and gang bangers. ITS EVERYWHERE .. so can we all stop being racist about sh*t and realize that white people are the ones who are selling by quantity to the latinos and blacks,and alot of white people are buying off of latinos and blacks as well. So there is no need for us to generalize by race. Just like Ms 13 exsist the "Skin heads" exsist(which is an all white gang for those who dont know). Lets clear our eyes and realize that the issue here is NOT a certain race,but all races.YES If we control the whole illegal situation sh*t will get better,theres no denying that..but like someone said in an earlier forum,get the drugs out..then the negativity will leave.Huntington is still great...Im still planning on living here once I graduate from Colombia..its my home and I love it!

i remember back in the 80's there werent any gangs..because they had so many non-profit programs going on that it kept kids off the streets and had them more involved with their own communities..but nowadays non profit turned into revenue for cities that are using these monies and putting them in other projects and kids are getting the bad end of it..i going to the EOC programs and at 15 going to a career building program and getting paid to go after school for 5.50/hr..3 hours a day..4 days a week..and enjoyed it..taught you not what career you was built for but taught you how to go on job interviews..socialize with not just people in your town but other towns as well..black..white( even thou we had about 5 in that program that year)..spanish..whatever..ever yone got along..if huntington can use that money to start something like that..you will get many kids off the streets and give them a purpose..nowadays all these kids are looking up to are drug dealers and gangs thinking thats going to be a way out,,but reality is..its not
