A poor one, dear. I am in that category, and its a real downer to be lumped with people who take drugs, etc. I haven't figured out an escape route yet. I live a clean, wholesome life, and I happen to be poor. My only crime is being a poor white person. I am treated like a criminal for being poor. I am humiliated constantly, like being asked yearly if I've been arrested. Ouch. Believe me, I've tried very hard to get ahead, but haven't been able to yet somehow. |

1 2nd the town dont give a crap about the station. When do they plan on using the money that we pay which is very high for the actual town and making it nicer. Instead its going in thier pockets. Park Avenue between pulaski road and the area near the police station was repaved last year and the road was not in bad shape at all but pulaski road from oakwood road until burger haven area is the worst. Where are their priorities? |

1 It's all about the politication and how much more money they can get at our expence(tax payers). I live in Huntington Station and for years & years they claim they are going to revitalize Huntington Station I'm 51 now What happen!!!!! The politicians made it a dumping ground for illegal imigrants. Living off of us Decent working middle class resident. There has been more crime and gang violence Then all my 51 yrs in Huntington sta. Patrone and Conti made Huntington sta worse then what it was. There the ones that need to get out of office. They are an embarassment and a shame to our community. They are the politicans we don't need!!! I guess seeing is beliving, but i must be blind. Huntington station is a dumping ground for all illegal's |

1 Their decision to pave that section of the road was that the residents "drive" there. The "residents" near the other section of Pulaski all ride bicycles to and from the bodegas and laundramats. |

1 So it's humiliating to be asked if you have been arrested when doing your yearly interview for receiving taxpayer funds? Too bad. They probably did a background check prior to your interview and have that info already but are looking to see is you are honest. I'm sure this is a standard question for all of societies dependents. That ouch you feel at the question is temporary, ours is forever. |

1 Believe it or not there are owner occupied homes on West Pulaski Road with people who work hard and have actual cars that drive on that road. Did I mention pay the ridiculous taxes to the town? That is really a dumb judgment. People who live and whom don't live there can get a popped tire from all the wholes that get horribly patched by the town which come back the next rain fall. So you would rather not pave it but have local residents and all the other people who use it to damage thier cars and suspension? |

1 Did I say that? Do you think I am the one making those decisions? I am not, I was just stating their reasoning. Look at where I live....you don't think I've driven that stretch of road? That's how I know about all the people on bicycles. And if you think YOUR taxes are high, would you like to trade? |

1 You do have a point with the taxes. I really wonder how they calculate the taxes. And why are they such a pain in the aZZ with anything done to the house. Taxes go up for dumb things. |

1 In NY the taxes are based on the value of the house, so every time you change something to increase the value (dormer, permanent shed, built in pool, etc) the value goes up, as does the taxes. In Florida, I believe they base the tax on the most recent SALE price of the house, so no matter what you do to it, you won't pay more. Like everywhere else, the prices of houses are going down in FLA, and so is their tax revenue. |
