Too weird....I just came across one of these from a home that I helped clean out and it was being used as a coffe table. It is the exact scale you are speaking of. It has Renfrew Scale Co. 1911 stenciled in black on the wood and I was about to put it up on EBAY. I live in CT and would be happy to send you a picture if you like in case you knew anyone that would want an additional one....I'd be willing to part with it for $300

The Renfrew Scales were made in Renfrew, Ontario from 1911 to the late 1930's by the Renfrew Manufacturing Co. Ltd. They made stoves, scales and cream separators. Most Renfrew Scales were used on farms to weigh everything from 4H livestock to grain, corn and potatoes etc. They were used widely in Canada at Railroad stations to weigh large parcels and many were exported to the US & British Commonwealth (Australia, South Africa, New Zealand). A scale in good condition (usually re-finished) should sell from 500.00 to 800.00.

I woodent be to open mentioning scales here, this could be misconstrued by Undercover recruits from Winnipeg.
They will peg you for a high volume pot dealer and you'll be investigated and perhaps questioned in the Middle East if you have Terrorist (Arabic) features.

The Need for Helpful Economic Indicators
It is important to understand the role that
economic indicators are playing.
If the following rings true to you,
please consider passing it along,
especially to people you know in Saskatchewan.
==========
A New Economic Model
Our ways of recording economic growth prevent us from creating a healthy society.
Our current system of measuring a successful economy is to report each expense or product as a unit of economic growth.
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is reported as a success regardless of its effect on public health or the natural environment.
If a new hospital is built for children because of the rising number of children with cancer, asthma and developmental problems, that is economic growth.
If we pay a million dollars to treat a person for cancer, we have economic growth.
If there is clean-up after a large spill in a uranium mine, this creates employment, consumes goods, and is measured as economic growth.
In our society "Growth" is seen as success.
The Scale Used to be Needed as a Real indicator
We may Need to Use it again in the Future...
