No shocker here. People along that stretch of NY Ave tend to ask for a cars to plow into them. Happens all the time too. Maybe these people are confusing Huntington Station with their homelands, where there are dirt roads that people can stroll in the middle of with the only risk of injury being a wild horse drawn carriage or the late model dodge minivan that you ride to work on with 74 other workers tips over. Seriously, I see mothers with kids in each hand standing in the middle of NY Ave on a daily basis. Backwards idiots!

My boyfriend saw this last night right after it happened. He said that it was right after the train tressel where there is a dip in the road. the driver may not have seen someone crossing.
Furthermore he said the man was laying in the road while the policeman first on the scene was talking to a crowd of people. Don't you think he should have been standing with the man trying to talk to him, tell him to hold on help was here?
Help came quickly but still.

There are more people walking on the double yellow line in Huntington Station than on the sidewalks almost as if to dare a car to hit them.

I'm just glad it didn't happen to me...I drive that road everyday...these immigrants are looking to get hit, so they can collect and go back to their country and live like kings....the real problem is that the police do nothing to stop this...you can be driving home from a long day at work and hit one of these people who probably do not even have a steady job, and sponge off of our govt....And you'll have to take time off from work to spend time in court fighting a lawsuit.

maybe you should check the town/state laws...its not the police departments fault maybe the townd doesnt want to spend the money to fix this "problem" but rather they would spend the money and build a day labor spot. people who constantly put the blame on the police need to rethink what they are saying!!!! not to far from this spot i used to deliver beer, and there is one bodega, I swear to God, the guy has chickens in the back alley, feeding them to serve as food.
Soon there will be goats and mules on NY Ave.
Shame on Huntington, you sold out the Station to illegals and now you get this, don't act surprised.
Huntington, a Great Place to Live and Work (If you are on the Towns payroll, or an illegal alien, or own a landscaping company and hire illegals. All others , please retreat to Mainland America).

im glad that my grandparents who came here as immigrants legally tried and learned to speak english, served the country and then bought property in H.S. are not alive to see what this town developed into. im sure they are turning in their graves!!!
