For me, a non-believer, this is a horrible tragedy.

What I can't figure out is why the believers become emotionally upset when their God makes a decision like this. Shouldn't you all be happy your God found another way for 4 year-old Jessica to serve him?

Drowning is one of the most quickest, painless and non-violent ways God can bring to an end the biological entity that houses his spirit here on Earth.

Shouldn't the believers be going to their houses of worship and thanking God for finding another path for lil Jennifer Alfani to follow?

Miss Anna Alfani, please do not beat yourself up over the death of you lil sis...God had other plans for her and there is NOTHING you or any other believer could have done to stop God from carrying out his or her plan.

From the non-believers to Anna Alfani:

Sweetheart, we are so sorry that your God imbued you with the emotions that are tearing your inside to pieces right now.

We all hope you are capable of recovering from this traumatic life-experience and are able to go on and lead a happy and productive life.

Love to you and your family.

"She blames herself, the poor little thing." The poor little thing??? The only poor little thing is the child who drowned, simply as a result of (here we go again) parental negligence. We'll obviously endure all the BS excuses for another 100+ postings, but parents' responsibility is to insure the safety of their little children AT ALL TIMES, especially when there's a pool around!! HELLO!! Is there something unclear about that???

Child Protective Services needs to abort the parents rights to conceive
children. Genital mutilation comes to mind.

Unfortunately, I agree with you. When we put a pool on our property it becomes our responsibility to do ALL POSSIBLE to keep our young ones away from it period end of story. One of the reasons I chose not to have a pool in my back yard is for this very same reason. One less worry in a world filled with many.

It only takes a split second for the worst to happen. This isn't too much to ask for and are they not worth it?

Yes, a split second. Anyone who has a small child knows how quickly a child sinks. They start inhaling the water immediately because they don't know how to push themselves out of the water unless they know how to swim. It's a tragic accident and pointing fingers does not help anyone. So many times something like this happens and you think that could have been me.
With all my heart I feel for the family and a young woman who has to go through life dealing with this.
All my prayers.
Please don't bother to write something unless it's positive and helps in the healing process to this family.

Teach your children to swim when you teach them to walk then hopefully they will not panic and can save themselves as no parent can be around always!
