Rockville Center KNEW about the abuse & that he was supposed to stop being a priest & they juggled him from church to church & Allowed him to have contact with children!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! The Parishioners at Our Lady of Perpetual Help & St Hughes should be notified of this !!
FROM the Article:
On Thursday, Schratz said there was no record that the Rockville diocese checked back with Vancouver about Cooper's record.
But on Friday, he said: "I just learned today that we fully informed the Diocese of Rockville Centre of (Father) Cooper's history. It seems they may have had some optimism that he could be treated successfully."
According to the Vancouver archdiocese, Cooper went to the Parish of St. Hugh of Lincoln in Huntington Station, N.Y., in 1995.
Cooper then served as an associate pastor in the Diocese of Rockville Centre for almost six years and was assigned to Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lindenhurst, N.Y. before being let go, says the Vancouver archdiocese.
An Our Lady of Perpetual Help church bulletin from May 2011 available on the Internet lists Rev. Damian Cooper as a former priest.
In the civil notice of claim filed in Vancouver, Taylor said her first contact with Cooper was when he was acting as chaplain at Camp Latona on Gambier Island, when she was attending a leadership retreat as a 15-year-old. Cooper was about 27 years old at the time.
The priest kept contact with Taylor and started having sex with her when she was 17 in early 1987, according to the court documents.
In 1992, Taylor broke off contact with Cooper, says the notice of claim.
During Cooper's eight-year tenure in the Vancouver archdiocese, he was a pastor at St. Joseph's in Squamish and at St. Jude's in Vancouver.

At the Very Same Time Fr. Soave(who also was bounced around) was the pastor at St. Hugh.
- Soave Raped Hundreds of Children and with the help of the diocese, left a wake of raped Innocent Children in FOUR parishes, was elevated to Monsignor and continued preying on Children til he finally had his life threatened and was moved again and made Vicar of Priests.
The Diocese of Cockville Center is now run by Cardinal Laws' Bussom Buddy "Bishop Billy Murphy" who surrounds himself with pretty 'boy toy' priests.

It seems like in all these cases the predators hiding in priests clothes have similar ways of twisting the story--- the victim above in Vancouver was preyed upon from the time she was 15-- but the church reports it as a "relationship that began when she was 17" ...seems like the stories from the Rockville Ctr diocese have the similar blame the victim, make sure the reporters dont report the child was underage, say the priest was "in treatment". Fr Damien Cooper was "let go" for a 'similar occurrence' in Long Island...why arent they taking away their Robes! He ( and others) hide behind the robes of priesthood and have the ability to then prey upon people when they are very vulnerable. If it was a medical doctor who preyed upon a patient of his, his license to practice would be taken away & a malpractice suit would be brought against him ( as well as criminal charges). We can't give sexual predators a profession that allows them protection 'above the law'that will only fuel more of these incidents (and seems to attract the wrong kind of people to priesthood).

good point. They circle the wagons on these events and figure it will pass and no one will challenge them. Pathetic. Goes on day after day. Schools closing to pay off lawsuits that have been in negotiation for years. Wake up Long Island. Murphy is a pimp
