I'd like WI Patch to do a story on
Helene and Annmarie's South Shore Children's Center. It's moving to Westbrook Elementary School, the same school Annmarie voted to close last year. Shore Children's Center will have all the bells & whistles including the smartboards that were bought by our school district and intended to teach the public school children of WI but are now going to be used to make a hefty profit for Helene and Annmarie's private preschool. A hefty profit b/c for some odd reason Westbrook was rented to Helene and Annmarie for less than $8.00 a square foot including electric, heat, rubbish removal, snow removal, landscaping, etc. What a stroke of incredible luck for Helene and Annmarie, no? I think their incredible luck which will bring them incredible income is quite a newsworthy item, no?

This school sounds awesome! But will they really be sharing space during the day with other businesses or will the SSCC have the school to themselves during their hours of operation? I just don't like the idea of my son being there while the school is open to the general public for other business. If you can advise me I'd really appreciate it.

"smart business woman"? LOL! That's like saying a spider is a "smart business woman". A spider takes a long time to spin it's web and then sits there and waits for ots prey. Spinning a web of deceit and deception against residents of your own town isn't smart business, it's preditor/prey behavior.

I'd like to see an indepth story on the coincidence of the small business owners of South Shore Children's Center Helene Tsouprakis & the WIBOE's Annmarie Larosa employment of *the President of the WI Council of PTAs * the wives of BOE members * and adult children of WISD's teachers.

Silly Town Crier, none of this is inside information:
The president of the WI Council of PTAs is employed by Helene Tsouprakis and Annmarie Larosa at South Shore Children's Center. The wife of WIBOE member Bob Ulrick is also employed by Helene Tsouprakis and Annmarie Larosa at South Shore Children's Center. Annmarie Larosa is on the Islip Zoning Board and collects a salary from the Town of Islip. The Town of Islip Zoning Board ruled that Westbrook could only be rented to an 'educational' tenant. What a coincidence! South Shore Children's Center owned by Helene Tsouprakis and Annmarie Larosa is a preschool! The adult daughter of a Manetuck teacher is also employed by Helene Tsourpakis and Annmarie Larosa at South Shore Children's Center.

Helene does not own south shore childrens center, she owns south shore children's center of west islip, a company that Annmarie never owned and the company that is leasing Westbrook. The zoning board did not rule anything about the school usage, that was the planning board, a completely separate board then zoning. As far as employees, Laura ulrich works for Annmarie's company and Vicky wanner works for Helene. The adult daughter you refer to would be Jessica desz, daughter of mrs desz current teacher at manatauk and former teacher at Westbrook. She no longer works for south shore childrens center because she is currently student teaching in sachem. All of which is completely irrelevant. Are you suggesting that people should not work? That a volunteer position such as president of PTA council or wife of a board member should prevent people from working for a PRIVATE company? Where is the logic in that? Silly silly silly

Gee Annmarie, you might have your "it's just a coincidence" speech all rehearsed but most of the people in WI don't buy it anymore. You left out a couple of key FACTS: Annmarie Larosa most certainly did own SSCC when she voted to close Westbrook. Annmarie Larosa most certainly did own SSCC when her friend Jamie Winkler got the exclusive listing to rent SSCC. The supposed split (wink, wink) only came when all 3 parties came to the realization that everyone would be able to connect the dots (connect the "coincidences") which point to an inside job for profit by all three parties.
But hey, thanks for clearing the air and spelling it out for everyone---wink, wink, cough, cough!
LOL!

"It is with a bittersweet heart that I write this post updating you all about the exciting news for South Shore Children's Center. After ten amazing years of a wonderful business partnership between Helene Tsouprakos and myself, we have decided to move foward independently, each of us taking one of our two schools. Helene will continue operating in West Islip, and I will be operating in East Islip. They say that all good things must come to an end, but for Helene and I our friendship and love for each other will always continue and grow. It was a natural progression for the schools to seperate and we are excited to have reached this point. Personally my work with South Shore has allowed me to grow as an educator and business woman, and at the same time work close to home involving myself in community activities, and time with my own children. South Shore Children's Center has a rich history, and last year started seeing some of our original students graduate from High School! We look foward to what the future has for those kids, as well as those just entering our program. Thank you all for your support and friendship!~ Annmarie LaRosa "

Wow after 10 years? What made them finally decide to go their seperate ways after 10 years? Oh yeah, they had to hurry up and tell everyone that they split the business up so everyone in WI would be dumb enough to think that it was just a silly coincidence that Helene moved into the Westbrook that Annmarie closed. No, no partnership there....much.

"After ten amazing years of a wonderful business partnership between Helene Tsouprakos and myself, we have decided to move foward INDEPENDENTLY, each of us taking one of OUR two schools. Helene will CONTINUE operating in West Islip, and I will be OPERATING in East Islip."

So, for all intents and purposes the two were operating together in West Islip as a partnership as of January 2, 2013 letter posted to facebook. Am I right so far? At some point in time prior to January 2, 2013 they decided to move forward independently from one another, according to her letter.
The BOE member, who is Ms. LaRosa said that each of the two will be taking one of OUR two schools.
So Ms. LaRosa obviously knew enough not to operate the West Islip school, so she is going to operate the East Islip school.
Makes sense.
Ms. Helene is going to CONTINUE to operate the West Islip school.
While one is branching off and taking on the full operational duties of one school, the other is taking on the full operational duties of the other school, which tells me nothing about who owns the incorporated businesses.
It's not clear from what I have read that this partnership is completely dissolved.
It looks that way from all the language carefully expressed over time, but the issue that has not been made public is the question that begs an answer publically, like placed on the district website, like they have done with the other things to minimize OUR anxiety.
It is the business of the tax payers to be given this information. They should not have to come knocking on Simons door, ask these OBVIOUS question at BOE meetings, or FOIL for it.
The only honest way of disclosing the TRUTH in this matter is to make a statement on the district website regarding this unusual business arrangement. No one cares about the "PRACTICALITY" some people think should not be even questioned, and no one cares about the fact that "at least it's being rented", this world today is full of people who know how to spin wool into gold. We don't need that type of patronizing, it's high time to just come out with the plain honest truth, spell it out so that anyone can verify the facts to allow the community to move on.
No one has been genuinely forthcoming of the QUESTION AND CONCERNS that surround this issue, at least not as far as I have seen.

Nobody has actually asked the question. If you want the answer, you need to go ask the question. Topix is not a communication tool to reach the people you want, however, you obviosly know by your post above that the information you seek is available or you can easily visit simon during his office hours to ask. Dont want to leave your computer? Send an email. oh, but all of that would require your identity also be public. right, your better off just complaining here. real productive.

Probably the reason why people aren't asking Rick Simon, Annmarie Larosa or the WI Board of Education these questions is because they don't want to waste their time being lied to.
You're 100% wrong. Topix certainly IS a communication tool to reach the people you want. If it's not then why the Heavens would you feel the need to monitor it 24 hours a day - 7 days a week?

Why do you want to know their identity so much? So you can smear them in public? So you can make sure the district gives their kids the shaft? So you can have their kids ride the bench in WI Little League? Using people's kids in order to get back at their parents is REAL PRODUCTIVE huh.
