"City parks and recreation Director Norma Salinas said on Saturday the city will board up the ranch house. It will remain closed until officials can develop a preservation plan, she added"
So where is this "preservation plan"?
When were the public hearings?
Evidently there was a BUDGET line item allocating funds for demolition
BUT budget line items ARE NOT AUTHORIZATIONS.
The Council never authorized the demolition.
So who did?
Who wanted her name on a plaque?
Instead of asking so many questions, why dont you look for answers like TIS did. At least he had the brains to get answers instead of just b*tcin' and complaining like you always do!

I've already gone to the Montebello City Hall and put in CPRA request for the documents pertaining to the condemnation of the Taylor Ranch.

I'll be checking this week to see if those records are ready.

Great YTW
so far we know...

Taylor ranch is specifically mentioned in the general plan

Talor ranch was "red tagged" and boarded up

the Council stopped demolition and said there would be public input on the futhure of Taylor ranch

the council put demolition in a budget but never authorized demolition

there is an unsigned demolition permit in the files

The city engineer signed the demolition contract (obviously he would not have the authority to order the demolition)

So who "pushed the button" on this unauthorized demolition?

Theo,

Every morning as I go to work Taylor Ranch is gone. Unless you plan on demolishing someones head why are you still crying over something that is gone and can not be replaced?

"Unless you plan on demolishing someones head "
Bingo
Someone bypassed the public input process
Someone's head must roll

And how much publid input was there on the new building requirements/ design?

And why was there no EIR when one was required by prop 40?

City needs to cut staff- here's a good place to start.

and
Don't cast the plaque yet.
