John Wong and is campaign staff has led a negative campaign assault against the character of John Noguez.

Your newspaper editorial board is WRONG on your facts.

First, Steve Cooley NEVER endorsed John Noguez because he is a Republican running for a statewide office. The endorsement was never rescinded. Call Cooley's office to verify that fact.

Second, a Republican financed smear campaign via anonymous blog website since he won his city council seat years ago.

The FACT is that John Noguez is respected by his peers throughout L.A. County and the State of California. He has been the President of the L.A. County League of Ca Cities as well as other high positions of leadership elected by his city council member peers. That is why he is endorsed by hundreds of elected officials in L.A. County. The only real tie he has to Bell and it's corruption is that he has to drive through it to get to the 710 frwy.

Third, keeping politics is a good rule of thumb, but why endorse a person that has consistently sought political office at different levels, yet keeps on losing?

The FACT is that John Noguez has 25 years of real experience working in the Assessor's office in a nonpartisan executive position. He is licensed by the State of California in appraisal. That is why John Noguez is endorsed by former Assessors Rick Auerbach, Kenneth Hayn as well as the current Asssessor Robert Quon.

John Wong is so desperate to win, he is willing to resort to play dirty politics to defame the name of John Noguez. I am surprised that the editors would make such a mistake as believe fake news that is posted on anonymous website.

What is journalism coming too!

But public records regarding John Noguez, as well as complaints from two City Council candidates who oppose the rising Democratic political star, have unveiled an odd, and even foreboding, controversy as the election approaches in this working-class suburb seven miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

Documents obtained by the L.A. Weekly show that John Noguez is not the incumbent mayorís birth name. Nor is his other frequently used name, Juan Noguez.

Moreover, according to a Huntington Park Police Department crime report, also obtained by the Weekly, one of the candidates who complained to city officials about Noguez running under an assumed name was recently threatened on the street.

"Know Goos"...why are you copy/pasting a specific selection from a sketchy and old (2007) L.A. Weekly article. No one was "recently threatened on the street", they alleged that they were THREE YEARS AGO, and the investigation couldn't determine the complaint had any validity whatsoever. I hope Wong didn't pay you to post that, I know he's desperate for publicity, but you'd be ripping him off trying to pass off old news like it just happened.

Here, let me copy/paste more that you left off:
"A spokesman for the California secretary of state, Evan Goldberg, says a person need not legally change his or her name to use a name on the ballot thatís not on their birth certificate ó if they commonly use the adopted name with no intent to defraud anyone."

"Noguez began his career in the L.A. County Assessorís Office and is considered the countyís top specialist in appraising architectural landmarks in downtown Los Angelesí Historic Core. "

Gee, I wonder why you didn't post that instead of resorting to typical Wong smears and a defamatory posting name. What are you, in the third grade still?

"Know Goos is a bum pirate"...and you are Randy Economy who is the paid consultant for John Wong. Of course you're trying to make an issue out of a non-fact. We wonder Randy, if you are on some type of permanent disability while accepting payment as a campaign consultant? Do you know if having no "Paid for by John Wong for Assessor 2010" on your blog is a FPPC violation? Since you use your private blog to promote your clients political campaign.

The Office of the Assessor is responsible for the valuation of over 2.3 million real property parcels, and several hundred thousand business property assessments. It is not child's play, and to turn it over to someone with an incomplete understanding of the workings of the office, and whose main promise to voters is that he will "make the computer system more user friendly to the public" is irresponsible.

John Noguez has spent more than 20 years in the office, working at all levels, and will work to continue the Office's ongoing commitment to quality public service.

But Noguez also has deep ties to Bell and disgraced former Mayor George Cole, which led District Attorney Steve Cooley to rescind his endorsement of Noguez earlier this week.
Because the job of county assessor is a nonpartisan one, a good rule of thumb is keeping politics out of the office. Noguez's ties to Bell and the skullduggery of Southeastern Los Angeles County.

Again, the Pirate political consultant Randy Econmy tries to make a connection when there is none. Let's talk about how John Wong has repeatedly ran for public office and lost. He ran for Assessor three times; Board of Equalization once and Monterey Park City Council once; This guy is just looking for public office for political reasons but can never gain any support! John Wong is a bad candidate for Assessor or any other political office.
