Nov 29, 2012 Full story: LA Daily News 53

Ricardo Lara may be new to Long Beach but the state lawmaker is clearly ready to face some of the city's challenges head-on, from bolstering trade through the port to reducing congestion on 710 Freeway.

Very interesting to have an outsider come in and run for such an important position in Long Beach and no one says a damn thing about it.

A lot of republicans are leaving the state, or country. New Zealand is having a real estate boom fueled by white american baby boomers--and dems don't care as long as the government checks keep coming. Sorry, but that's how it is now. Local democrat politicians are irrelevant to those who used to participate.
They're leaving.

Isn't it curious that the free-spending out-of-control Homosexual and non-Homosexual California politicians used the Government licensed "news" media to demonize the so-called "Bush tax cuts", and now they use that same Government licensed "news" media to threaten the tiny voting minority of Californians who pay taxes with the prospect of a "fiscal cliff" economic catastrophe unless they keep them?

I hope you are not counted among those who would deny the voting majority who vote increased taxpayer funded "benefits" for themselves and for wealthy $$$ Big School $$$ operatives their RIGHT to pay for them.

That's right just keep doing the same thing over and over again. California is broken and has been for a long time. The fix is not a leftist agenda, that's what broke things in the first place.

Lara's first statement was a commitment to assuring bankruptcy and civil chaos in support of the wildly over hired, over paid and over promised Public Employees....He is perfect for a City in decline on it's way to financial collapse.

As yet another admitted robotic Union Funding Hack He will keep the DREAM of Municipal Bankruptcy alive for hundreds of CA cities.

CA is so leftist, we just had a republican governor for years.

Only to unseat the complete fiscal incompetent who almost sent California down the river. Democrats are the kings of "this time, it's different!"
Former village idiots include John F Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Bill and Hillary Clinton. All were deposed because of their pathologies eventually doing them in when the public could take no more.
Just sit down, gay dude with the girl's name. You're making a further fool of yourself.

Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe Long Beach ran out of extortionists who were willing to screw us all in return for the unions campaign support. That would be a good thing wouldn't it?

Oops I forgot, when a republican performs poorly (which is pretty much always), the right likes to claim it was because he/she was really a secret liberal or a RINO. They forget that the "real" conservatives, aka the libertarians rate even worse in the polls.

When a republican performs poorly it is because he did not stick to republican ideals. He started to, but was shouted down and decided that it was in his best interest if he wanted to get re-elected to act like a democrat. No rebublican would have signed that rediculous global warming final solutions crap. And no republican would have helped a murderer obtain early release. Sorry but libertarians and conservatives are two different things. We would have been better off keeping Davis, at least he was strong on law and order. If liberals are so great why is this state in such bad shape? Education, economy, trains to nowhere...

When you work tirelessly to import a welfare class into this country, while offering them welfare, they will tend to support your party, even if a majority of you have the emotional and intellectual life of a sixteen year old, since they do too.

Congratulations. You're Queen of the Retards. Good luck with your economy. Hope you like mexican food in a state that resembles the peaceful community of Detroit.
Don't forget to lock your gates at night.

Huh? Obviously you don't share the LB Democrats collective Dream of committing fiscal and civic Suicide.
You are far too positive and honorable, responsible and to understand the Calif Dems lust to fail their families.

Lots of people share your opinions. Apple just announced 3,300 new high teach jobs..........in Austin, TX. Northrup Grumman completed their move from Century City to Virginia. Albertsons is closing stores around California and the SEIU is trying to force Wal Mart to leave the State.

U Haul is having a real problem. So many families prefer a chance at success to a future as pitiful tax slaves in Calif that UHaul must add a ONE Way drop off charge to all Calif rentals. No One wants to rent their trucks to move TO what remains of Calif.

No one is moving here except illegals and the very very Rich. Neither create middle class JOBs hence our dismal future is assured. Congrats Dems on a job very well done.

Heres the thing: conservatives have always hated California, even in strong economies. The WORLD-WIDE poor economy is just a convenient excuse.
