Maywood's P.D. problem

Maywood is in the news again, and, no surprise, the news has to do with its police department, infamous for giving officers booted from other departments a second chance. Read more

hoping is a DREAM!!!! Maywood police officers think that because they have a badge they are God. They are nothing but over paid rent a cops. They need to remember that Maywood is a predominantly Latino city, that taking advantage of people simply because they carry a badge is wrong. What they must remember is that what goes around comes around, so for all those police officers that have committed wrongs against Maywood citizens, your day of judgement will come, and may God have mercy on you

roscoe i dont htink you know what ur talkin about. besides this aint about immigration. why do people like you do that? make everything about immigration? get it right homeboy. it was not the city that flew a flag at the post office, it was an individual. and the fact that maywood is a sanctuary city, as are countless southland ones, has nothing to do with the topic at hand. sanctuary status offers a better relation with the cops in fact, people are more likely to report violent crime when the fear of being deproted or qustioned about ur status is absent.
anyhow if the cops are corrupt then they are corrupt and that has lil to do with the citizens of mywd. i personally will reserve judgment till as many details are available, but i can tell you anecdotally that mywd cops can be punks. as can be bell cops and downey and hollenbeck and newton. i have had run-ins with lots of cops, as friends and otherwise and i have witnessed police brutality, but i still reserve judgment till the details are out there. i can paint them all with such a broad bruch. and the whole town is not a mess. its a thriving community of hard working individuals.

thats funny that you would think my run-ins with cops have me as the culprit of some crime. i have plenty of cop friends, f*cked some cops and attend regular community meetings, as well as get pulled over for broken head lights and such. i have even seen police brutality first hand. i have interacted with cops since a very young age. and i can say that some cops are punks. and most are good guys (a lil possesive, but good). if u "worked the streets" then u know cops aint always the good guys and ur offense to this is pretty funny, and telling. but you still address lil of what i posted. this is not about immigration. what dont you understand about that.

the flag being flown over the PO was on a sunday when no flag is flown. it was during a counter minuteman rally. the MM came to maywood and some protester (possiblyly not even a mywd res since so many people came to protest the MM) raised the MX flag. the city did not do this, it was one individual and the flag was taken down immediately. its funny how a picture can create such ludicrous ideas. yes rosco the flag flew above the mywd PO for weeks!!!! ajajaja

anyhow maywood is thriving. it has its own ABA team, is creating parks, holding multiple fairs year round, home prices are still healthy and just recently the city created a Hot zone (city wide Wi-Fi). what other city has done that? free internet for everyone in the city!

this is what I know.

i respect the cops, just not punka$$ cops who take advantage of the community they are supposed to protect. if ur one of those then i have no respect for you, but still i wait to get the whole story. i make sure to keep all this anti-immigrant garbage out of it, especially when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. cool ur jets a lil brotha.

o ya LA is a sanctuary city as are the southeast cities and plenty of other ones. as i said this agreement between police and the community ensures that people cooperate with the cops without fear of deportation or questioning. it helps put the bad guys behind bars. im for that. besides the border should be enforced at the border. not hundreds of miles in. build that fence. just dont militarize it, this aint korea. let the cops do the job they were hired to do; put the bad guys away. and let the border patrol handle the border. easy as that.
make a 5 layered fence 10 meters tall. its gunna be ugly, but if it shuts some pie holes and makes others feel safer, then do it.

I guess Roscoe Rules equates multiple "run-ins with cops" (not "interaction" or "cooperating" with the police) as having something to do with criminal activity. Come to think of it, so do I!

make sure that you understand one fact, having run-ins with cops do not necessarily make one a crook, but sometimes cops do single out certain nationalities who sometimes happen to have nice cars--I am an educated citizen that happens to drive a nice car and for some reason when I go through Maywood, I get pulled over. It's not my fault that I have a very good legal job that allows me to have a nice car. Maybe if SOME of these police officers understood that not all who have a nice car is crooked SOME of us would be more understanding of the Maywood Police Officers....by the way I am a woman

i think you are right on the money...and i think that some people forget that although maybe some people may not be legal here in the United States, we must ALL remember that if it weren't for some of these illegals do the job that Roscoe would not dare to do....remember that we have produce in our homes because of these illegal people...and just to re-iterate, you comment had nothing to do with immigration, but roscoe had nothing nice to say and had to attack somehow..

I am....or was. But the comments about little ol' Maywood PD are insane. I am aware that department has it's problems right now. But to drop the hammer on every officer that works there is irrational.
You're talking about a city that has declared itself a sanctuary for illegal aliens who shouldn't be here. It's a city that flew the Mexican flag above the U.S. Post Office, which was an extremely stupid thing to do. It's a city that criticized it's own officers for towing the cars of unlicensed drivers.....which by the way, IS WHAT THE COPS ARE SUPPOSED TO DO!
The whole town's a mess. It's not confined to the PD.
hey roscoe, you obviously do not know your history, if I remember correctly, this used to be Mexico until your evil ancestors took advantage of our people took the land away...so in essence YOU are the illegal one here...get it right before you start making your remarks >:-)

I wonder if the Maywood residents would feel better if a bunch of cops were imported from Tijuana. Last time I drive through Maywood, I wasn't even sure is was in the USA.

What gives a city the right to declare themselves a harbor for people breaking the law? What's next - cities declaring themselves sanctuary cities for other criminal activites? "Come to Podunk, we're a sanctuary city for bank robbers."

That's a laughable post from a dubiously gifted ape. I'm an American of Mexican descent. I don't know what my ancestors did and I don't really care.
No, this did not used to be Mexico. Mexico controlled the American Southwest for less than 20 years. It was Spain that ran the show here for centuries. Spain, in case you don't know, is in Western Europe. Before the Spaniards showed up, it was the Gabrielino Indians who lived here.
Anyway, if Mexico did have control of the Southwest, they'd have run it into the ground like they have with their own backward country, so it's a good thing they've been relegated to irrelevance in the eyes of history.
There is no such thing as Aztlan, we Americans don't care about Mexico, and I'm all in favor of deporting as many illegal aliens as possible. Our social services were never meant to withstand this onslaught of uneducated humanity from a third world sewer.
