My son was sentenced by the Suffolk County District Attorney's office to community service about four years ago for a minor scrape with the law. The Red Cross (they are in charge of the community service program) assigned him to a location in Brentwood. My son couldn't locate the address of this location and was now running late. He called Castro for directions. Castro started to yell at my son. My son put him on speakerphone and I heard Castro proceed to tell my son that he must be stupid (I'm presuming because he couldn't find the location). Castro told my son that he couldn't use him (to demolish a building) since he wasn't reliable or responsible and that he would call the Red Cross to have him terminated from their program. Because he did this, my son was put on a year's probation instead.
I knew something was up with this lowlife and seeing his mug shot on News12 made my day! I hope my phone call to the community service office of the Red Cross back then had something to do with his arrest!!!!!
I do believe your phone call was one of the reasons these low lives were finally caught and brought to justice. My neighbor works in the criminal court and said that even though they were under investigation, a phone call from a parent put the fire under their butts. Thank God there are concerned people who take the time to get involved when they suspect a crime, especially when they are using young, scared, people to help them break the law. You deserve a big thank you from the community.
