this lady completely deserves what she gets. if it was an "accident" she would have tried to avoid it but she didnt. she didnt even attempt to stop. i hope she never gets to drive again...she will never know how all of her friends and family and others felt after this. she is heartless if she would not even try to stop. i am one of many of my friends that will be glad to know that she is getting charged with all of this and i hope that she gets thrown in jail for a long time..

I think this woman is getting exactly what she deserves and I think if that attorney had children and this was their situation they would not be looking at it as "just an accident". A child's life was lost due to someone who was negligent. People need to pay attention while driving, it would cause a lot less accident.

when i read this article this morning i was very angry. i felt that the attorney of the woman that killed her was very heartless. in fact, i had some select words about it but i'm not even going to go there. this woman deserves to be in jail for what she did to my friend. i know for a fact that if she does not countless people will be very angry. tara was one of the most caring people that i've ever met and this lady took her life away. this was no accident, no matter what the attorney said. i just hope she's ready for what is in store for her.

Are you kidding, dont you think she should be held responsible for her actions? I think if "grandma" can drive a car, "grandma" can take consequences for the way she drives. You dont run a clearly red stop light because it was an accident. And I bet you if this was her situation, she would be doing the same thing.

No I can see yanking her license but if you have lived 62 years of a good wholesome life I don't see giving her jail time. I don't see where that would help anything. I saw a lady pull up to a red light today she looked both ways and then went. She was cussing at herself when she realized what she did. She wasn't on a cell phone and I doubt she was drunk she just had a moment of stupidity. People make dumb mistakes sometimes

you're an idiot. if you haven't read the other articles she went through a clearly red light. she deserves everything that is coming to her. i don't care how old she is, the fact of the matter is that she KILLED one of my best friends. imagine if that happened to you, you would want the same thing. keep your stupid comments to yourself.

The woman went through a clearly red light. As a result, a young life is over and her family and friends will never be the same. Should the woman be punished for the 'accident?' Uh - YEAH!!! She didn't hit a deer or a dog, this was a young woman. I think the key here is that it was avoidable; it was clearly carelessness. And since the carelessness was on her, she should pay the price. How many other red lights has she gone through and not gotten caught????

This lady deserves everything she is getting. If you knew Tara, she was an amazing girl with an incredible heart and spirit and i miss her so damn much its unreal. She was careless about driving and as a result killed a young girl who had her whole future ahead of her. She deserves everything she is getting.

It is sad that events, such as this, happen. We can not bring Tara back.
The woman stands accused of serious offenses. The key word is that she is accused. We have heard the prosecutions side of the story, but we have not heard the story of the woman accused.
The family can also proceed after her for monetary damages, independent of the criminal charges, as a result of this crash.
I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like Tara was a well liked person. Lets just hope that everyone involved in the case, including Tara, and the woman who stands accused, gets the justice that is due.
