SPE, Huntingdon County credit unions to merge

SPE Federal Credit Union will merge with Huntingdon County Federal Credit Union, according to an agreement between the two financial services firms reached Friday.

What a shame. They gave themselves away too cheap. Also people should have been notified about the merger earlier. I got my notice four days before the vote was held. That wasn't right, and makes this whole thing smell to high heaven.

I got my notice on Wed the vote was that Friday not enough time and that's how they wanted it. They've been working on the deal for 2 years. It's a buyout being called a merger. The office here will have no say in anything the one in State College will control everything. Frankly couldn't believe people voted to accept it.

And so it begins. The reduction in savings interest rates since mid 2011, services, and so on, just so one or two people at the top would keep a high paying job. I feel for the remaining people working in Huntingdon because they will reduce them in the not to far distant future.
