There shouldn't be any tax hikes when you have people working for Huntingdon wasting money by being on the telephone at work for personal reasons. Also being on their own cell phone during working hours. Added up to quite a bit of time. I know because the calls were with my husband. To me that is tax money being wasted for someones own enjoyment.

First of all you reported wrong, there were well over 300 concerned citizens who came out on a cold and unfriendly night to voice their concerns regarding the wasteful building of an unwanted 20 million dollar Middle school during a time when Mt. Union and Huntingdon county school districts are already facing a 2 & 3 million dollar deficit in their budgets. The voice of the tax payers went unheeded even though there was a petition presented with over one thousand signatures as the school board voted to accept the preliminary budget which includes the building of a new school and closings of perfectly good schools. Where is the sanity? To justify this cost the tax payer in our districts will now be levied a 24 mill increase. Given the economic downturn and little to no jobs in this area, this decision will only worsen matters for Huntingdon county. STOP the Construction of the new Middle school NOW. Use Brady, Henderson, Mill Creek and build on wings to the high school. Enough with raising our taxes when there are already solutions in place!

I agree with you. The people should not be burdoned with any tax hikes. Especially when It is a fact that some one is wasting money on personal phone calls at work in the Bourough. Their cell phone and work phone. Maybe they need to watch their workers better. Wasting taxpayers money. There is no excuse.
