"I find it hard to believe the PGC can/would charge someone 16 years after a violation. For what? Having antlers? Oh I wish I was the attorney for Mr Goshorn. He will walk! Just about every house I visit in Fulton County has a set of deer horns being displayed. There is nothing criminal in having antlers. Please don't waste the taxpayers money pushing for a conviction. Stock more Rednecks or trout."

We dont know the entire story. he may have admitted to it. Thinking he would get a lessor fine or penalty. I agree these laws need to be changed. In ohio if you do not have written permission with you on the property you are hunting, you go directly to jail for trespassing. You don't pass GO you don't collect $200 you go to jail. No ifs ands or buts. This guy will get off like nothing ever happened to him.$23000 fine, paid off in monthly installments of $5. It will take him till he is 416 years old to pay it off. Oh yes John look what you have to look forward too! You bad bad boy.

Who cares if someone turned him!!! The game commission can only be so many places, if it wasn't for people turning these people in they would never get caught. And believe me this a**hole thinks he can do anything he wants and not get in trouble. I know for a fact that he drives on a suspended license, laid in bars all weekend when he was on probation, had possession of firearms when he was probation. And that is just a short list of thing this guy does. Since the state police can't seem to catch him, and probation don't care, someone needs to do something about him. And did you ever think captain obvious that his "wack job ex g/f" is wacked because of him and all the shit he has put her through!!!! I just hope this man gets all that he deserves plus some!!!!

" Roe said. "Presently, such violations are classified as summary offenses, which are on par with a traffic ticket."

Yeah maybe that would be a fittin punishment if he really hit all those deer with his car.

People just need to mind their own business. More deer get on highways! so who cares if someone shoots one Here and there. Who pays for all the damage to cars that get smahed by deer insurence claims thats what then your insurence gose up. You know The deer is not the Game commision problem when they eat up all the farmers crops!!
The deer is not game commission when your car is smashed up for hitting one. But as soon as the gun cracks its the game commissin deer thats Bull crap!!! They should pay for all they insurence claims each year.... then they would beg people to kill the deer!!! I say kill all the darn deer!

I know for a fact that the three mounts in the picture are legal. The first two where killed right here in PA. One was killed in Alabama on a ranch, that is now for sale. Besides if they where ilegal they couldn't be or couldn't have been mounted. I can't see how they can charge him for that.
Then look at all the real big poachers that get caught and get big fines and charges and then end up getting nothing. I also can,t see how yhey can fine him for something that happened yrs ago.

I know for a fact also that the 3 mounts pictured were taken legally. One was from the south on a plantation and the other two from PA. I believe the statute of limitations is only 2 years for these offenses. Whether you admit to it or not doesn't give them ability to charge you if the statute of limitations has expired. This was the case several years ago when the guy was caught in Burnt Cabins and had everything logged for 15 years of illegally killed deer and turkeys but could only be charged for the ones he killed within the last 2 years which according to this article will only be one deer. I think when this one shakes out there is alot more smoke than fire here, not that more fire may not be deserved. The law needs to be applied to everyone the same way.

After doing some further reading he can't be charged for killing the deer outside of the last 2 years but can be charged for possessing illegally killed deer parts (antlers).

It's a shame that the deer and bear don't shoot back. How many of these "big game" hunters would be out there. My guess is, his ex was fed up with all those antlers in the living room and the joint smelling like an autopsy!!!

Yeah, if he knows who turned him in, they might be the next head on his wall !

Poaching such as this guy did needs to be a felony, conviction leading to jail time and the loss of the right to own firearms. Make no mistake. This guy is a common criminal. Those who make apologies for him are jerks or worse. This particular jerk was not feeding his family, he was collecting antlers. He steals from all of us, not just those who are ethical sportsmen. Way to go, Mr. Leonard. Catch a few more. Now what we need are judges who hate poachers and put them where they belong.

Can you imagine why the NRA lobbied against tougher penalties for poachers, loss of weapon, felony as apposed to misdemeanor? I guess they are in favor of protecting criminal rights.

For all the as$&@?s who dislike my dad you can just kiss my white u know what. Ur just jealous and call him a punk because u like to blow ur face until he kicks the crap out of u. And it would help if some of ur dumb s&$*s could spell go back to school. Who spells Amish with a o instead of an a wtf. And all those deer were shot on property that he was aloud on and not all the deer that they got were illegal. And his fine was no 23,000 when it was all said and done. And for the ones who don't kill nor see anything it's right quit smoking be quiet and get out of the cabin or only sit in the woods for longer then two hours u lazy f&$?s. And just so u know he didn't just cut the head off he took the meat and it tasted pretty good and plus gave some away. His gf was the one that turned him in and she was a poor a$& b$&*h and a f$&@ing fruit loop. And for all u guys info get a life because all u got to do is talk about someone else (Frank Wright). Just sit their and think about all the poachers in path valley about 90% of the people do it and even the elderly and have done it for years. So sit their and think for a minute because u or a family member or even a friend has poached something at one time. So mind ur own business d&$k weeds...!
