Seems the Lake Norman Citizen is a little too close to Ken Lucas to report all of the news. Ken continues to have the police at his home. Why doesn't this get reported? See below from the Huntersville Herald, the only paper that reports all of the news:

Police respond to disturbance at commissioner’s home

HUNTERSVILLE – Huntersville police responded to the home of town Commissioner Ken Lucas twice on Feb. 2, according to police logs.

Lucas and his wife, Angela Deanna Lucas, were “having a dispute over the husband changing the locks on the house,” at 15620 Glen Miro Drive, according to the police department’s Watch Commander Log.“The wife was eventually let in by the husband.”

According to Police Capt. Michael Kee, officers responded to the home again after Ken Lucas and Angela Lucas accused each other of assault. The officers did not witness an assault and advised each person that they could take out warrants with a magistrate. Kee said Huntersville police have not been asked to serve a warrant against either person.

Ken Lucas currently faces a charge of assaulting his wife on Jan. 16. A hearing is scheduled for March 15 in criminal court, although in a separate civil proceeding, a judge refused to grant Angela Lucas’ request for a restraining order against her husband.

Could it be because The Lake Norman Citizen is owned by two other Huntersville Town Commissioners?

Check your sources. The lake norman citizen is owned by a local business man and it was never owned by any commissioner.

"A group of investors is planning to launch a new weekly paper called Lake Norman Citizen in mid-June, covering an area stretching from Exit 18 to the Iredell County line.

The weekly print newspaper will cover news and issues in the Lake Norman region, according to co-founder Charles Jeter, who will be the paper’s president. Mr. Jeter runs a Cornelius-based trucking company, IFCL, and serves on the Huntersville Board of Commissioners. His partners include Theresa Julian, the wife of Ron Julian, another Huntersville commissioner."

The Lake Norman Citizen has had no commissioners in its ownership group for nearly a year. The ownership is on record with the North Carolina Attorney General's office.
