I enjoy reading about happenings in Bishop Hoover's synod. He is a flip flopper, very inconsistent. One pastor can solicit sex and keep his pastoral duties, but another pastor will lose all duties for lesser things. A sin is a sin is a sin. Everyone sins, even pastors. Is this not the reason Jesus died for us?! I do not know the circumstances of Pastor Wenrich's issues, but I know that Bishop Hoover has made very unsettling choices in the past regarding his handling of pastors discipline. It's a shame when a leader in the church is doing things that cause hurt to it's own members.

The Roman Catholics ban MOST (NOT ALL) priests from being married.
This is the Lutheran forum. Lutherans are PROTESTANT, NOT Catholics.
I think you need a little education in religion.
Frank, You can label yourself a "protestant" if you want to.
But there are several reasons, most conspicuously, a very different view of the Sacraments, why Lutherans are NOT "protestants".

Would love to hear the logic behind that. Especially since the term Protestant derives from the PROTEST against the Pope led by Martin LUTHER.

The word "protestant" does not refer to a specific doctrine. It refers to the denominations that decided to split from the Roman Catholic church in protest to the actions of the Pope and the Roman Catholic church. Luther was one of the first protestant leaders. At first, he just wanted to reform the Roman Catholic church (hence the word "reformation"), but after a few incidents it was clear that it wouldn't be possible, so there was a split in the church. Luther wanted to get rid of indulgences, and he wanted to reduce the number of sacraments from seven to two (baptism and communion). Yes, doctrine itself varies throughout the Protestant churches, but that does not mean that Lutherans are not protestant.
