Important question in light of the vaccine controversy.
Was this darling child given the swine flu vaccine?
My condolences to family.

My condolences to the family. I can't imagine losing a child so young. My mother lost my sister at an older age and I seen the pain our mother endured. This mother will need more strength as the weeks pass by. Her pain and missing her little guy will accumulate as the days pass and especially when the funeral is over and he is laid to rest. God and peace be with her at this trying times.

Where I work many parents do not take this seriously. They continue to bring their children ill and with fevers, coughs, runny noses and loose bowels. We tell them about it and they bring them back the next day to be cared for by our staff while they go to work. These parents do not want to be contacted at work that their child is ill, vomiting, fever, coughing, endless bathroom visits or diaper changes. Even in light of this child's death in the news yesterday they still brought their children to our daycare ill. These parents seem to choose their work and paycheck over the health and safety of others. While other parents do the loving thing and stay home with their child or have someone take care of their child at home.
One child has the flu it spreads to the others and then these children and us caregivers take it home and it is carried to the schools and places of work where family members attend and work. This is why it is called an epidemic. Unsuspecting and innocent people contact this flu like this little boy who was fine when he went to school. God Bless this mother.

Besides when we were children we wanted to be home safe and warm in our beds when we were ill.

Probably not since the onset of his illness started three weeks ago and I think that the vaccine was rolled out two weeks ago. I am so thankful that my son received his 1st H1N1 vaccination last Thursday at Ferguson Elementary. It is very scary to think that this illness is taking the lives of children and not even just immuno-compromised children. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

My condolences to Kyree's family as well. I can't imagine losing a child let alone one so young.

As for those that think a vaccine is the answer, zip it! I see people get flu shots around me and the next three or four days they are miserable. I for one have never gotten a flu shot, heck, I haven't been vaccinated for anything, Polio included. And yes I did go to a public school and was let in and you can still do that today. The problem is people uneducated about vaccines think that once they get the shot they are no longer in danger. Not the case. How about those that got the measles, polio and chicken pox vaccines and ended up dying or handicapped from the disease they were supposed to be vaccinated from.

There is no way to tell if a vaccine would have helped this child. I could say more but this is suppose to be a comment section not a college classroom.

First of all my condolences to Kyree's family! Such a tragedy. Hopefully by now-parents realize the harm this virus is causing. We need to get this vaccine to every single child-but how do we do that? I understand that PA received vaccine and I'd like to know where it was distributed and why the government is taking it's good old time getting the vaccine to the schools? These kids need it now or I'm afraid we will be seeing a lot more tragedies in the weeks to come! I myself SHOULD be getting it-BUT-I am more than willing to see a child vaccinated first!
On the contrary, we do not need to VACCINE every children with the scam vaccines.
We need to take responsibility of our own childrens health. Get there immune system up and strong. Get vitamin d3 in their system. Get them off junk food that they eat everyday and eat more real whole food.

But my heart still goes out to this family who are suffering.

It's called the germ theory of disease. Vaccinations help. Did you ever hear of Polio? It's pretty much eradicated because a vaccine was given to everyone. DUH! Now go back top your vitamin worship. GNC needs sheep like you.

So sad to see in our modern times that influenza still kills.
Even sadder are the uneducated "evil vaccine" crowd who show their ignorance of science based medicine.
Sorry, vitamins will not prevent the influenza. Comparing the vaccine that we use today to vaccines used 50 years ago is not a very educated position. Maybe it is you who needs a college course. However, I am sure you think the education system is in on the conspiracy!

My condolences to the family.

In the news they said it was caused by "complications from H1N1". Did she have other medical conditions? Im just curious to know the whole story.

Please read the article. First, Kyree is a little boy. Second, the "complications from H1N1" were that he died from pneumonia. And, the scariest part (also in the article) was that he had no pre-existing medical conditions such as asthma, etc. I don't know about anyone else but this death has really opened my eyes to the dangers of this virus. Up until now, I thought it was a lot of hype over nothing. I certainly am a little more cognizant of little things that I can do to such as wash hands frequently, cough or sneeze into elbow, don't share drinks, VACCINATE,and most importantly if my kids are sick keep them home. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Complications mean the Flu itself like Cancer does not kill you. ity isn't the disease. It is the problems caused from the disease which attacks the lungs and other vitals as pneumonia sets in or other complications from the flu. I believe that is how it works .
And again the young child was not a she . The young child was a boy.

Thank You for realizing. I wish more parents would open their eyes and really take the time to see how dangerous and contagious this Flu and some other illnesses are. I wish the ones who bring their children ill to our daycare would heed these warning signs. This child's article should be posted at all childcare businesses for parents and the caregivers to understand. Maybe then this can be contained and save another little one's life.

Why do people chose to be so blind and uneducated to facts that could save lives. I have been to places in stores and other businesses where young children and adults are wearing masks. In Asian countries there is no problem with this practice. is see where in the news today Afghan schools are closed because of the Flu in their country becoming an epidemic. What do we think we are far to sophicticated a society thet it won't happen to us even though we chose to put ill family members or our selves being sick with the flu out among the public. Even hospitals have taken precautions if someone come to the ER with Flu systems they are escorted to a seperate area from the other ER patients.
