We call them adults and charge them as adults when they are 18, but they can't drink until they are 21. So which is it—you’re an adult when you’re 18 or 21? I think we should be consistent with how they are treated. The last time I read the PO there were a lot of “so- called adults” getting DUI's. It doesn't matter the age, lots of people makes stupid choices and there are no laws out there that are going to stop stupidity from happening.
I completely agree. The biggest reason it's such a problem is because it's forbidden. They'll party awhile and get over it. It was their first weekend back at at Mt. Alto. I'm sure you could find plenty of other places with adults underage drinking too, not just a college. I'd bet some are even in their own apartments and houses. Imagine that!

Don't they suspend driving privliges for underage drinking? Could always plead not guilty and see what happens....
How does this make sense if they aren't even driving? They may be adults drinking underage, but I would imagine many either don't have cars there or are smart enough not to drive anyhow. This law is a punishment that really doesn't fit the "crime"

Sorry but at age 17 or 18 your brain is not fully developed and will cause permanent damage if you drink too much. You can not handle it, so stay off the juice until you are old enough. LOL!)

It's the same way if you get caught with drugs. You lose your drivers license when you're not even driving.

I'm hoping the 17year old is being charged as an adult-with underage drinking. Public Opinion should know better then to put a minors name in print.
What's the matter with putting a minors name in the paer when he breaks the law. The law applies regardless of age. Maybe if all these precious minors would made to suffer for their actions, they would clean up their act before they have to go out into the world on their own.

I agree but lets go one step furter and correct the mistake my generation made and raise the age of consent back to 21.

Lower the drinking age to 13. If girls are allowed to have babies, they should be allowed to drink. Another good excuse....
