If you read the last Humboldt Standard, Jack recieved some letters that he could not print because his lawyers told him not to for legal reasons. Can anybody shed some light into this. He wrote this in the This & That column

it all started when jan mayo was fired. she did not deserve that according to the fellow employees.

did jan really get fired or did she give she two weeks notice? she did give notice then was asked to leave the day after she gave it because it was very upsetting to the residents that shewas leaving. after being there for 18 yrs i could see why, they will never be able to replace her and keep up with all she did for that nursing home.
jan wasnt the first

there have been a few quality staff who have been let go because of mary's ego. dang if someone there is more liked than her. she doesnt know what the heck she is doing other than effing everything up.

Sounds like the nursing home is in big time trouble. I think Jan getting fired was just the beginning. As I understand it that employees and residents both are afraid to speak out because they fear retailation.

you would have to be an idiot to think that jan wanted to leave and that the place is better off without her. jan was an amazing employee and did so much for the residents out there. it is unfortunate that someone let her go.
i heard it has really gone downhill since kari (hunzeker) prezlick(?) was fired. everyone keeps saying it was roughly one year ago. when did the new administrator start? just curious if there is a connection. i know it could be completely unrelated, but you should always start at the top. the paper listed several contacts today for citizens to voice concerns to. call them all and just ask them to look into the situation.

Well, thank you? I love it when my wife calls me meathead but I am not sure how to take it from strangers.

Forced resignations technically are not getting fired, you are right.

Easy to say when you live in Omaha. The Nursing home is in a mess caused by dictatorship and insubordination. The normal rules do not apply to some in charge there. Question some of their actions and you find your self without a job.

Hey , ben I'm real sorry if I remind you of your wife, I mean REALLY sorry. Why doesn't ole fake bags just sue CANH if she was treated unjust,o wait there is a whole diffrent side to the story, the truth.
Why don't you talk to jan, keri, and ed and have them sign a waver so we can hear the other side and make a more accurate judgement. But like all good cry babys that ain't going to happen.
If anybody has any reports of abuse report it to the the state, or shut the F up about it.
Thanks , I'm just sick of hearing about it at the bar,and gas stations.

Working on IT. C Gilbert was fired, for the same reason J Mayo quit. If you know Kari maybe you need to ask her why she was fired. I would like to see CANH back in good standards with all and the care top notch. Sorry you are tired of the talk, action needs to be taken in this matter.

We are talking about two X-employees that probably have 30 plus years of working for CANH. The Board is none functioning, they leave everything to the mangement company. This is a city owned nursing home, can Humboldt stand another failed business????

Obviously there is a problem. Red flags need to be investigated by an outside source. The rumors and gossip do as much damage as anything.

All I know is when experienced staff leave a place there has to be a reason. I don't know too many people who put in YEARS of experience and then suddenly become a bad employee. I know KP and I have heard that side. I have also heard about MK's kid running up to KP's kids and letting them know it was "my mom that fired your mom, ha ha". That's professionalism and administratorship at its finest. Who holds the big dogs accountable?

There are plenty of admirable employees at CANH. Congrats on the job you do every day. Hang in there and know that majority of the people only want the best for CANH.

They need to get rid of the worthless director of nursing that they have!! Hell, she is never there! I would say that it is pretty hard to supervise from your bed. Get someone that is more capable of helping with staff and residents concerns. That job is not just paperwork!! The board members???HAHAHA. They are just oblivious!! They don't really want to have to do anything, they just want the prestige of being a part of something,"don't make us make any decisions!! That management company, well they just cash their checks too!!!Big ones!!

The city of Humboldt should be seriously worried about the condition of and fate of Colonial Acres. It has gone from a place that welcomed everybody and had a reputation for good care to a place of disgrace. All management have gotten sucked into the game of the administrator, and the place just isn't the same. The administrator spends her time walking around with a coffee cup in her hand or sitting on the business office desk. She spends all of her time forming alliances and gossiping instead of being a role model and actually managing the facility - because she has no idea how. The Director Of Nursing is actually never present. I don't know how she gets away with that. The entire management team has gone from a compassionate group of people to the same type of plotting, gossiping bunch. Everybody has all of a sudden become very good at teaming up on people as a form of confrontation and discipline. How shallow and unprofessional. It's very sad to see. I just hope that the community, the board, the employees who actually care for the residents and the management company open their eyes, speak up, and stand up for what is right. Nothing will ever change if those things don't happen, and the town will be out one of the biggest employers in town. And will be out of what used to be a great place to have your loved one in the last part of his/her life.

what about the young girl that had her car stolen from a resident while she working on a different floor. and then blamed for it because she supposedly left her keys in her own vehicle. the car was burned but no one new he was even gone. where was the staff that was suppose to be taking care of him

You are on the right track. Everything I read from your comment is correct. Tell More, because people in Humboldt need to get involved. Let see what else you know. I'm ready to see a change of the ranks at CANH.
