Review: Tec Electronics

BEWARE of TEC Electronics located at 3103 FM 1960 W., Ste D Humble, TX 77338 !!!!
I took a dvd/vcr recorder to TEC in October 2010 for repair of a blue light and
"loading" constantly blinking. I recieved a call 2 weeks later that it was ready
for pick up. After I picked it up and got it home the blue light and "loading" were
still blinking. I returned it to TEC and asked why, the owner told me he fixed the
power supply, and later told my friend that when he opened it "the power supply
looked bad" so he replaced it, but did not fix what I had requested. I paid this
guy a total of $84 and change when I picked it up. He assured me that he would fix
what I had originally requested and call me. Well, the better part of November passed
and I never heard from him, so I had my boyfriend call him. The owner told my boyfriend
he had not fixed it yet. I then decided to make it a point to stop once a week at TEC
and check the status of it. The first week the owner told me he was too busy with home
visits and had not worked on it yet. The second week the owner told me he had to order
a part and was waiting for it to come in. The third, fourth, and fifith week the owner
told me he had the part but had not had time to fix it yet. When I went to TEC on the
fifth week and it was not ready, I requested a refund and my dvd/vcr recorder back.
The owner agreed; however, when I went to TEC the next morning at 10 am to pick up the
refund and the dvd/vcr recorder, the owner attempted to only refund me $44 and change.
The owner said he "does not refund labor". I asked him why I was being charged for labor
when he never fixed what I requested him to fix. He had no explanation. I refused the
refund and advised him that I will file in small claims court for a full refund, court
fees, and the return of my dvd/vcr player. In a conversation with my friend two weeks ago,
the owner told him that I was not being charged for labor. The owner told him I was
recieving a $44 refund because he was charging me for return shipping of the part he
ordered and never put on my dvd/vcr player.
The owner of TEC should be ashamed of himself. I dont think anyone deserves this type of
customer service. If you have been a victim of TEC please email me and make sure you file
