Comments about the 19 year old that hit her are uncalled for. Lets not jump the gun that texting, putting make on, or reaching for smokes was the reason for this awful accident. How do you think the 19 year feels? Wait to find out what the cause was before assuming. What about the other drivers, were they speeding, texting, putting make on or reaching for their smokes that could have caused this?

She hit a car after not looking where she was going, what more do you need?

I could care less how the 19 year old feels knowing how the DEAD WOMAN feels!

Oh I'm sorry I shouldn't be so critical, this was an ACCIDENT!!

Now Now let's keep it civil!!

The 19 year old may indeed have speeded up for all we know.

Why don't you ask the DEAD WOMAN how she feels about it?

No one is saying that she sped up, but the fact of the matter is that she hit a car that was stopped due to heavy traffic. I'm not exactly sure how that could be the fault if anyone else. As for sympathy, this is something this young girl will have to LIVE with for the rest of her life. Sad? Yes, but "LIVE" is the operative word in that sentence. Her family and friends will be able to comfort her for the rest of het life. Sara was not nearly as fortunate, was she? As her friend, I would give anything to tell her how bad I feel for the horrible thing that happened to het. Sadly, I will never have the opportunity to do that. I would respectfully ask that everyone take this into consideration and realize that this is not the appropriate forum to try to raise sympathy for the person responsible for Sara's death.

The other drivers have no fault in this what so ever. The 19 year old hit Sara's car at highway speed, this is directly from the officers at the scene. They were in a construction zone, and the area the accident happened the speed goes from 70 to 50 in the construction zone I believe.

Yes this young lady will have to live with the consequences of her actions for the rest of her life, and hopefully someday Sara's family can forgive her for her actions, but it's a tragedy that because of this someone special has lost their life. And FYI, charges are pending for her.

We shouldn't focus on the age of the driver -- because everyone who drives has made these kinds of mistakes. The fact that her inattention took the life of my friend is really unfortunate, and anybody who hit Sara would have good cause to feel terrible.

I hope that we'll all learn from this terrible situation -- and pay attention while driving. Not paying attention includes messing with electronics AND just kind of zoning out.

Clint is just a moron is all...Inattentiveness and Intentional are very different. Should she be charged...yes absolutely...should she rot in jail for the rest of her life ... no had she intentionally done this as the idiot above believes then sure.

No, Jerami, Clint is not a moron. He us just a person who is struggling to make sense of a terrible tragedy, as is the case with all of us who knew and loved Sara. I get the impression that you are friends with the other driver, her name is Mary. If that's the case you are entitled to feel badly for her. Or maybe you have been the cause of a similar accident. Or maybe you're just standing up for all 19 year olds. Whatever the case, please try to put yourself in our shoes. We have lost someone very special and we are all suffering. Please do not add insult to injury.

Everyone needs to stop! It is terrible that someone so young was lost and someone so young was involved in such a tragic accident. Everyone needs to remember the living- Mary and all others involved as much as remembering Sara. Have any of you expressed your sympanthy to the familes? What is happening to this world? Like they really need to read all this negative Sh*@. They have enough to deal with! Give it a rest!

How do we know that the second driver even cares? It's just an "accident".

They do need to read the negative comments. The second driver was 19 years old and apparently positive comments weren't working.

A life was taken and until people realize that these are not accidents, then things won't change and more people will be nothing more than statistics. The woman killed should not be a statistic but living and continuing the positive course she was working on. What really does the other driver lose? Her old car for a new one?

If the driver responsible doesn't feel terrible about her split-second inattention taking a life, then comments here won't do anything to change it. If she's a half-decent human being, she'll feel horrible that her mistake took a person's life and comments here and speculation will just make it worse.

A few folks on this thread knew Sara -- and anybody who knew her knew her history ('cuz you learned it in the first half-hour :)). She'd easily admit that she made mistakes -- like anybody else. I suspect she'd want us to miss her, to be angry about the random way the universe made our lives difficult and then she'd start speculating about the nature of human beings and why evolution makes us mourn. I highly doubt that she'd like us to speculate about the reasons some 19 year old may or may not have been looking at the road... and she might just say 'shit, it could just have easily been me'...

The task for a driver of all cars is to be attentive to watching where your 3,000 pound car is traveling.

Drivers MUST BE "INTENTIONALY ATTENTIVE TO DRIVING THE CAR"!!

The 19 year old was INATTENTIVE for a long time prior to hitting Sara!!

This was NOT an unmarked construction zone, there were signs for MILES!!

In typical teenage driver habits the 19 year old was probably speeding and NOT watching where she was driving!

IDIOT!

Throw the book at her!!

Make an example of her so other idiots MIGHT drive more carefull!!

Send her to prison for 10 years!!

And publish the fact that she is rotting in Prison for not watching where she was driving!!

I met Sara at my first PTK meeting at Century College. What an upbeat and energetic person she was. After she introduced herself I thought to myself I'll have whatever she is drinking. In my opinion, I believe her hardships in life made her a better person; one who could truly understand the unlucky hand that they had been dealt. I thank my lucky stars I had the opportunity to get to know her a little better over several more PTK events. RIP Sara.

I am Sara's BF / Fiance I had asked her to marry me just the week before but we hadnt told anyone yet so all the newspaper articals call me the BF . The girl who took my Baby from me will pay for her actions . All I know is that this girl drove straight into Sara's car with out ever hitting her brakes even at impact .. I know this from the witness's and the tow truck drivers who are my friends and there were no tire marks on the road where it happend . She was taken from me for no good reason personally I believe this girl was texting and not paying attention to what she was doing , "I dont know what happened" her own words .
First of all this girl shouldnt have been driving in the first place she had no insurance second where the accident happened was in a construction site about a half mile past the very LARGE signs that stated 55 mph but she was doing close to or more then 70 mph . My Baby was the love of my life and I will miss her for the rest of my life .. As far as I am concerned this Mary Smith should get the max penalty the law can give . I Hope she saw my Babies face when she was pulled from her car and sees it everytime she closes her eyes . Steve

Send her sorry arse to prison for 10 years AND THEN take all new drivers to visit her in prison.

Let the youngsters see her arse rotting in a cell!

When I was in HS our class took a tour of Stillwater prison, that left an impression I will NEVER FORGET!!

GOVERNMENT needs to take action to improve the way kids drive!!
