Sewer pipes have always dewatered areas simply because they exist. Water flows outside of the new pipe in voids created during construction. It happens every time. Dig around any old sewer pipe, its an unending underground river.

And no, it wont stop , It will keep drawing down the aquifer till things equilize out. WBL is a memory. Pump all the water you want into it. It wont help.
