What is going on within Forrest City Schools that they dont want the State or the Parents to find out about. Could it be about the low scores, the unfair discipline actions, or how about all the friends hired with state grant money? While they are at it why not discuss why teachers are not getting administration support. I cannot forsee anything of value coming from a meeting where the school picked visitors have a combined IQ less than the number of squares on a waffle. How can the parents expect higher standards when administration quality keeps getting lower.

I am so glad to see this post. It's pathetic to see how she thinks she is doing such a great job. She doesn't know how to talk to people without belittling them or throwing tantru fits. I work in one of the schools and she has no people skills at all. How in the world can the board not put her back on the shelf where she was??? And, for those who don't believe what I am saying, just ask the employees. There's a teacher at one of the elementary schools that doesn't have students. She goes around from classroom to classroom doing whatever and makes a teaching salary. Don't beleive me, ask around. She is in one of the elementary schools. Teachers are furious and morale is at a sucking low. She does no lesson plans..teaches no kids..and still gets a teaching salary. This went on during the current admin. Not in her current role, but in her previous one. How can we expect better when the admin allows this crap to go on. Can you say 'waste of tax payer funds?????????? Ask if there is anyone that knows how the cards were stacked in one employee's favor to get a job. If you want answers, ask questions..........simply put.

Ms. Hughes is doing a good job. She inherited many problems. She is being judged by a double standard. You would love it is a male was tell it like it is. She needs time and support for the board and community.

Just like the president blaming the last president. On the surface, maybe, I'll give you that. But, not on the broader picture. Still schools without heat, certain staff member being held to a much lower standard and the other remaining 500 + being held to a much higher. How do you explain that? Doesn't make any difference what she inherited, what has she done to fix what was left undone? I say just let the board president and the school attorney have it, they are the ones running the show and what ever is done to promote the school and what ever progress is made, they deserve the credit. It should be a male in this role anyway. I have alot of faith in the board in that they will make the right decision in either keeping her or letting her go back to what she was doing. Sure hope I am not disppointed.

The school attorney has not part of running the school. He is just there to make his money. Ms. Hughes is all about following policy and educating student. The district still has a long way to go but it will be financially more sound at the end of the year. Classroom are warm, buildings look better and as far as removing teachers that responsibility to the building principal. There are a lot of hoops to jump through before a teacher can be removed It is called " fair dismissal".

Well, time will tell. If I remember right, Dr. Woods is the supt that hired the cleaning crew, so therefore, he should get the credit for the schools being clean. Believe me, there are rooms still without heat and have been since the late fall. Check it out. I have my facts straight. KNowing all about fair dismissal, you have to have your documentation before you can dismiss, doubt this has been done, it has never been done as long as one can remember. I guess if the principals don't do their jobs, then the supt should document that, right? What is a shame is that one that knows all of this can't go to a board member without being labeled as a trouble maker or a snitch. Believe you me, it is going on. Why doesn't one question it and find out the facts instead of saying it isn't going on? Knowing Rome wasn't built in one day, but she isn't the one for the job, it should be a male that has the necessary experience and knows the AR laws and can come in and KATN! Time for the small issues to be taken care of before they become big ones and time for fairness to return. I could write you a book on following policy. Policy says one thing, but that isn't what is done. When a person makes money outside of their school day work and can count it as school business is wrong. When I had jury duty, I had to forfeit my money I made because I wasn't on school business. All of this audit work that has been done in the past several years......was this money returned to the district? Was school business days taken as leave? If not, how is this fair? People in the central office don't know just how much the outside world (schools) knows what has gone on. And, they want our respect?? How?
