Rhetoric like "republican taliban"? I don't listen to Sean Hannity. I told you that I rely on good old fashioned "common sense". The kind that our grandparents used. You are too caught up in your "politics".
"BOTH spending and revenues (lack of) is the problemS"
If so, then why is the only solution raising taxes?
Here's the real deal. Taxes may or may not go up. Spending is guaranteed to go up. Which gets back to the real problem. It's not lack of tax revenue, it's spending.[/QUOTE]
The only solution isn't in just raising taxes. President Obama has never advocated that. Quite contrary, he has advocated a balanced approach which includes spending cuts. You republican taliban insurgent types just don't want to acknowledge it.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again. There is plenty of blame to go around for everybody regarding the economic mess we are in. And nobody is exempt. But make no mistake. Lack of revenue is on the short list of problem causes.

You admit spending is part of the problem. There may be hope for ypu yet. Did you know the debt went up from just over 10 trill to over 16 in Obamas 1st 4.. Is that ok with you? Our debt goes up 60% in one term? Im not reciting talking points like you but facts. We cant spend our way out of this. We cant give everybody everything.
I can just as easily point at the trillions geedubya put on the credit card and left for Obama to pay.

"a balanced approach which includes spending cuts"

This is common sense asking, but are the spending cuts going to be equal to the tax increases? That is the definition of balance.

You did not answer the question but blamed bush. When you cant answer a question blame bush. This is too much. One question. How will blaming bush fix anything? Answer that or be quiet.

As far as I know that is yet to be determined. Hence the negotiations are underway. But I do know Mittwit said he wouldn't accept a 10 to 1 ratio on that deal. Meaning he would not even accept 1 dollar in tax revenues for 10 dollars in spending cuts. Thats pretty much the republican taliban attitude. Of course those republican taliban insurgents drop to their knees for Grover Norquist as soon as they arrive in Washington DC.

Yeah. The republican taliban is between a rock and a hard spot. And they all know it will soon be "Come to Jesus" time.

geedubya gets the blame. Straight up. And he will continue to get the blame for a generation.

geedubya stepped into the White House with a thriving healthy and vibrant economy. He left the White House with that same economy a smoldering burnt cinder. He owns it. Thats your answer.

You should be happy with $3.25 a gallon gas. We have the cheapest gas prices of any developed country. In the future (18 to 36 months from now) when gas is $5 a gallon you will be wishing for the good ole days when gas was $3.50. But you are at least correct that the POTUS doesn't control the price of gas. Oil is a globally traded commodity of which price is set by supply/demand. And those manipulating price gougers.

geedubya still has President Obama beat on the debt. He more than DOUBLED the debt during his administration by adding $6.1T.

Why shouldn't you be happy with $5 gas. That is what Obumma said we needed, in order to keep out emissions down, right?

Sounds to me like he wants to control the poor people.

"Oil is a globally traded commodity"

So is natural gas.

"which price is set by supply/demand"

Then increase the supply, like we did with natural gas.

Its more that he wants to direct the nation away from the dependency of petroleum and more towards renewables and naturals. Thats really what I think.

That natural gas just doesn't have the power potential of petroleum. You can actually use natural gas to heat a home or to push a little 4 cylinder vehicle down the road at a modest speed. But you cant use it to fly a 747 across the Atlantic ocean. Thats really what drives the value and interest of petroleum over other energy sources. Its a very large amount of power packed into a small volume.

You conveniently leave one thing out. 9-11 changed things for ever. Oblamer will continue his legacy it appears as well as his sheep. Blame Bush.
I haven't heard anyone blame geedubya for 9/11. I have heard plenty of people blame geedubya for the aftermath of 9/11. Mostly over the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I know I supported the Afghanistan war and was sorely disappointed when all the money and resources were diverted to the Iraq war.....which I did not agree with. Thus geedubya dropped the ball and lost focus on Afghanistan. And both of those wars were funded on the credit card.

One of the biggest tragedies of the Iraq war (not including American lives and casualities) was after all the hype about Saddam Huessien and how bad he was......after the U.S. captured him geedubya just gave him away. That right there alone tells the American people that S/H just really wasn't important.

And of course all that war money went straight to the bottom line of the national debt.

You cant find any rational thinking person who believes raising taxes on ANYBODY is a good idea right now. There was a billboard south of FC a few years ago that said " if money is burning a hole in your pocket its not a new pair of pants you need". We dont need new pants or more money. We need to be better protectors of what we have and quit giving all of our money away.
Actually.....I'm sitting here watching CNN.....they had an interview with Grover Norquist this morning. They are reporting an overwhelming majority of American voters support raising taxes on those making above $200K/$250K. Ive seen the same statistics from other sources.

It serves reason that if you want to start decreasing the debt then taxes will have to be raised. Otherwise it would take a financial rape of Social Security and Medicare. Those are programs that many people have already paid into and are deeply vested into.

You try to make the case of "cant find any rational person" when in fact its well known and established that President Obamas plan is supported by the majority. Thats one of the reasons he was re-elected. Your comments and arguments have turned being nieve into being just dumb and stupid.

First consider the source. Cnn. Second how does the majority feel about Obama care. I not against a tax increase once we are proven fiscally responsible. I can disagree with you without name calling.

You are helping me make my point. I dont think a rational person would reelect the President with job performance or the very absence of it his first term. And if you think there are no cuts that can reasonably be made, there is not much hope for you.

As I stated...I'm seeing the same statistics from other sources. Except that FAUX News channel. I don't watch that channel unless I'm in need of a good belly laugh.

The Affordable Healthcare Act is pretty much favored at 50/50....within the margin of error for the polls.

Actually President Obama had quite a stellar first term. Especially considering the abortion that geedubya left for him to mop up. You can google his acheivements for yourself.

I never said there were no cuts. Those are your words. You sound just like one of the republican taliban insurgents.

Yall make the cuts and get back with the "taliban" as you call us and we can review your cuts, maybe suggest some more and then maybe "discuss" a tax increase.
