I'm currently writing a novel where Donie TX is featured prominently. My Grandpa, Covey Nash Sr. was born there in 1917 moved to Bryan, Galveston then Houston with my Grandma, Polly (Pauline) Nash. They retired to Donie in 1982 or 83. Is there anyone out there that knows lots and lots of Donie and Freestone County Texas info and stories.
Oh and my great grandmother, Grandpa's maw was postmaster of Donie in the 20s. Maude Adelia Elliot Nash ("Mur").
