i think she is a good christian person. and all the sterotyping and batching a person imagine is not neccessary. she is such a wonderful person and gave accurate coverage of the news.and portrayed herself as a perfessional on tv and off. she visted the senior center in talladega once and she was such a joy and pleasure to be around. my God Bless her where ever she may be.

Hey Fran. I was wondering how you were doing. Just remember "Smart Girls have more fun."

I know you wrote this a long time ago, but I just wanted to respond anyway. I ran across a picture of Mark Prater and for some reason it made me think of you - how both of you disappeared without a word from the stations. I miss you on NBC but have no doubt that God is going to open a tremendous door for you somewhere. Maybe in fulltime speaking? You came to Tannehill Valley last year and spoke to our ladies and it was an incredible message. I think about it often and so appreciate your time with us. May God continue to bless you as you seek His will and serve Him even in the midst of hardship.

I am friends w/ Mike Royer and am going to get it straight from the horse's mouth when I see him next. Hopefully he's not sworn to silence and won't give me some politically correct answer.

Fran said she was let go by Channel 13. They hired Andrea Lindenburg for the morning news and moved Gina Redmond from the morning to the afternoon news which was fran's spot. fran said they escorted her to her car and she asked them what did I do wrong and they said nothing and let her go. Ithink Channel 13 done her dirty and Fox 6 is doing the same thing with David Neal the chief weatherman.

Fran said 13 let her go. They escorted her to her car and she said what did I do wrong and they said nothing and that was it. They done her dirty as Fox did Weatherman David Neal. Channel 13 hired Andrea Lindenburg for the morning news and moved Gina Redmond from the morning news to the afternoon and evening which was Fran's job. So therefore she no longer had a job.

Mark Prater is coming back to Birmingham and will be on CBS 42. I read it in April 10 I believe issue of the Birmingham News on page 2 under Entertainment news. I also think he was done dirty but I am not sure.

I think nbc13 morning anchors and weather and traffic personalities are absolute dorks!!!!!!!!!! I do like Andrea but does she always have to say some smart comment or try to crack jokes? Are they performing some kind of comedy routine or what? Is Brook really the best they could come up with to tell us about our "highways and biways" and to do segments on the midday news? The same for Gina!!! She seems as cold as ice with her fake hair and phony comments. This station is the pits!!!!!!!!!!

I think Fran would tell you to stay away from television stations. LOL

Anybody know what Fran is doing now? I hope that she is doing well wherever she is.

[I am so glad that Mark Prater is coming back to Birmingham. He has a lot to offer to the weather community. He can set the example of what it is to be a real weather man.

Gina Redmond, the anchorwoman you are discussing, was fired in Pittburgh, PA (where I used to live) for slapping a woman in a bar fight. The woman she hit was her former producer at a rival TV station; witnesses said Redmond "went after" the other woman, "with no provocation".
She TELLS people she left to spend more time with family and children, but she was definitely let go by management. It was very big news at the time.
Just google her to see. She pleaded no contest to those charges, and there were witnesses to previous, similar events that made the news at the same time.
My sister lives in Russellville now and when I saw Redmond on the air while visiting there, I almost choked. How in the world did she ever get another legitimate TV job?

I would do Fran Curry. I was just going though some stuff and found an old video tape and she was on it doing a teaser.
