Gas, Oil Rules; Transportation Plan; La Plata Ranch; and Stimulus Funding:

Gas, Oil Rules - More regulation is what this industry needs.

Transportation Plan - Build bridges to nowhere.

La Plata Ranch - SPEND SPEND SPEND what little you have left of taxpayers money - then RAISE TAXES - home values to plummet.

Stimulus Funding - Money borrowed from China, your children and their children will have to pay back or turn over the USA to Communists; then borrow more from the New Mexico Finance Authority for your children to pay back. The City Council has already doubled our water rates allegedly to pay for this, the fix water pipes that are not broken project.

Say: NO NO NO NO NO

That was easy, so now what-else are these Socialists Democrats planning before they skip out of office ?

I'm not sure that increased regulation of gas and oil inside the Farmington City limits will have much effect on the industry as a whole. However, which way they go will send a message to the industry as to whether Farmington welcomes the associated jobs or not.

At this point, we need to start rescinding expensive regulation which has cost us far more than benefit us.

WE MOVED BACK TO FARMINGTON , FROM PHOENIX, 3 YEARS AGO. JUST AS PHOENIX WAS FAILING. WE PAID TOP DOLLOR FOR OUR HOME, ONLY TO REALIZE HOW FOOLISH WE WERE TO 1ST MOVE BACK AND TRUST THE THEN BOOMING ECONOMY AND 2ND TO BUY A HOME. IF LA PLATA RANCH IS PASSED IT WILL TOTALLY FINISH OFF THE HOUSING COSTS IN THIS AREA. PREOWNED HOME PRICES WILL FURTHER PLUMMIT WHEN THEIR IS A TOTAL OVERBUILDING WITHOUT THE ECONOMY TO SUPPORT IT.

Why change the oil and gas rules? They don't enforce what they already have.

The first drilling that needs to be done is in the heads of the environmentalist wackos to allow the hot air of environment worship escape from their feeble brains.

Ditto to your letter. It is time for these politicians to just say NO!

Don't expect to see any kind of resurgence in oil and gas drilling in the San Juan Basin until the state eases up on the pit rules that were enacted in July 2008. They made some adjustments this year, but need to go further especially for drilling sites that are not environmentally sensitive. Also, the required monitoring and paperwork is too burdensome, especially for small producers.

Don't get me wrong, I want clean water. I enjoying fishing the quality waters every chance I get, and I want the fisheries and drinking water wells protected.

Any rules that the City of Farmington does, or does not, enact will be largely symbolic and inconsequential to the industry throughout the basin.

The city council needs to observe the complete process it takes to turn key a well before they should ever be entitled to pass any rules. The council lacks the proper decision making processes and leadership.

NMOCD and BLM rules are superceded in the City Limits by City Rules.
Obama was largely symbolic and inconsequential before the USA found out what he ment by CHANGE. Symbolic to whom - Bill Richardson to express your approval !!

The City of Farmington covers only a tiny area of the basin. As important as the City Council may think it is, they have no authority over the vast majority of the basin.

In any case, I doubt the Council would do anything as outrageous as what the NIMBY whackos did in Santa Fe. And I think you are over-reacting with the analogy to Obama.

Around this town, history has shown, the Mayor and City Council like to be led by Bill Richardson who, as you know, is led by Obama. Why else new City Oil & Gas regulations at this time. Also, if you look back you will see that no one from the City Administration attended the Pit Rule hearings in Santa Fe. SHAME SHAME SHAME

Driving & drug tests will be implemented on a weekly basis, and paid for by their own company.

Beer and cigarettes will not be sold to oil/gas workers who live within city limits.

Oil/gas field workers will not be allowed to hang out and spend hard-earned cash at the strip joint on Harper Hill; any extra monies will be placed into a fund for their wives and children.

Gas drillers must change their clothes and wash them on a daily basis, or have clean clothing for at least 5 days out of the week. 3rd hand cigarette smoke will also not be tolerated.

Gas drillers are not allowed to hang out at health club parking lots, and oogle at scantily-clad women walking in and out of the clubs.

Gas Drillers will also be ordered to work out physically 4 times/week and attend nutrition classes, weaning them off excessive amounts of pork, beef and beer.

More initiatives to follow.

My BIL has a couple of pumpjacks pumping crude oil/ naphtha in his back yard near Carlsbad NM. He doesn't mind as he gets a small percentage of the placer royalties. And BTW, most these workers are really very educated and must be versed in Well Control and electrical mechanical systems and I doubt you would have the fortitude to do the strenuous and dangerous job that they do.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Virgo

Be careful you don't wind up doing someone else's work today, Virgo. There are all sorts of little tricks to persuade you to take pity on them, from pretending to be ill to making such a hash of everything that you can't bear to watch for a moment longer. Then you are likely to be asked to put in some overtime, at the expense of your social life. Grr.
