I know this discussion is about Farmington. My comment was about Farmington. I myself as a white female have experienced racism at the hands of the Indians in the work place in this county. Not only in the work place but going about every day activities. It is NOT just the Indians being victimized. I never experinced racism until I moved to this county.
I was raised in this area. I have never experienced the “racism” that you have commented about. It could be your attitude.

If Navajo people were as racist as you would like the readers of this discussion to believe, they would be in this discussion posting vicious remarks that are rampant in this discussion by non-Indians. There have been very few Indians who have posted anti-white sentiments. The “victimized” whites jump on it like these posts represent the majority of Indian opinion in this discussion.

Most all of the comments in this discussion and other discussions in the Farmington Topix, are from non-Indian people posting either racist ugly remarks about Indian people, denying that there is racism, or posting derogatory posts that only a nasty little fourteen year old would use as a response.

You have nailed your own self to the “victim” cross as it is the only way you can validate your dislike for one certain race.

Don't count on it. You are woefully ignorant of history, and you attempt to bolster your (non)points and positions by adopting many posting nicks.
And yes, dear, it IS "your" fault.
Get educated, fool.(Look up the definition of "fool.")
I do believe that to prove their pointless statements on race these poor victimized, yet incredibly intelligent, non racist posters create scenarios that are pretty wild and unbelievable.

They are turning into a mob. Hee hee. Going to have to put my boots on to wade through these posts. The doo doo is getting deep.

I don't think there's one brain cell among them. LOL

I think it's funny how afraid and threatened they are by a mere TWO people speaking their minds. They have huddled together (although it's probably not more than a couple with multiple nicks), and they think by forming a "mob" it intimidates. All I can say is.....hahahahahahahahahahaha.

The mob...the "majority"....only proves the point that the majority of local residents practice racist attitudes toward Native Americans.

If one racist is good, give me 5 or 10, right? That'll show 'em! ROFL....seems to be their mentality.

How did you find out Thinker lives on Snob Hill? Oh, poor you, having been victimized by those bad, bad Indians. Think you'll be alright? Are your feelings still hurt? Need a hankie? No you're not ignorant, really stupid maybe, but not ignorant. By the way, just to correct your spelling AGAIN, it's we're not ‘were’ if you are writing about your little mob.
Oh, and its putz, not PutZ. Can you go five minutes without calling names, or are you afflicted with Turrets syndrome?
Have to go now, I am looking at property up on Snob Hill.

Good luck, I hear property is at a premium.
My two cents worth...every individual has the ability to present a first impression, a second impression and so on...the first impression however, is the most significant. You wake up in the morning and put on your "attitude" face. You set the tone for YOUR day. I sincerely believe, no matter what color you are, if you show respect and courtesy, it will be reciprocated. Hold a door for someone walking up to the same entrance, let an elderly person ahead of you in line, smile at the clerk, and wish them a good day. How hard can it be? Set the example. Be the leader, not the "victim". That's the ice-breaker. Smile, show a little courtesy. You'll gain respect, self-gratification and maybe leave a little smile in someone else's day.

Nothing to disagree with here.

I would take it further, though, and maintain it's good and right to confront hatred head-on in order to illuminate it, thus causing it to have less impact.

Well, let's think about this.
What if the Navajo decided they wanted Farmington as their own. What if they came into this area, killing, enslaving, burning, and taking over our homes, businesses, and whatever else, and then, those they didn't kill would be required to worship their gods, speak their language and attend their schools and instit6utions, while being treated with derision and hatred for generations to come.
Would you have much love for Natives (or anyone) who would destroy you and your families' lives in that way? Would have, in fact, have anything but hatred for those who would do such a thing, destroying your culture for generations to come?
This is EXACTLY what happened to the Natives at the hands of the white settlers and their subsequent generations (whether you like it or not, your ancestors and mine are part and parcel of this). And it happened over and over and over.
Then you want to cry and whine because someone Native American didn't give you the respect you think you're due.
What a dunce.
You really are unbelievable!! Why is it ok for Native's to hate us because of what happened MANY years ago? We didn't PERSONALLY kill them, we didn't PERSONALLY destroy their family and lives...Natives alive today weren't even victims of those crimes! Yes, I do want to 'cry' because I wasn't given the respect that should be given to any human being just because I am not Native. So boo hoo! Is that not what the Native's do when a 'white' person is racist to them? You are such a hypocrite (look up the definition)

That's real mature Cursor. Tell me which part boosted your ego the best? The part where you called me stupid or the part where you accused me of having turrets. Would that have made you feel better if I had turrets? What if I had dyslexia? and thats why I can't seem to spell quite to you liking. Would that have made your day? I bet you were the school bully, because you still like picking on people that is very clear. What a great example for your grand kids. You're the biggest hypocrite
on this forum. I truelly hope that you have a white/native racist experience.
And btw I don't care if it's spelled erogant or arrogant, I just don't want any one to consider me arrogant like they consider you arrogant.

I dont have to validate anything. I never said I disliked anyone. Don't put your biased words in my mouth. I simply reported an experience I had with racism. You are trying to make people think racism in this county goes one way and it doesn't. It goes all ways to all races. Maybe you should try to comprehend what people are saying instead of putting your own twisted thoughts into everything.

That's what I have been trying to say, I am not racist nor do I condone it. I have although been considering being racist against arrogant onesided people who seem to think ("er") there opinions' are the only ones that matter and they curse ("or")those who see things differently.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Capricorn

This is a marvellous day for having a discreet word in someone's ear. You'll be able to choose your words carefully, making you very tactful and considerate, and as a result you will have a helpful conversation. This is also a good opportunity to talk about topics that are very dear to your heart, or which are usually too private to mention.
