..... I don't know what to think. I would say that if the majority of the evidence leaned towards him, sure, harass the hell out of him. But at the same time, I think if the evidence was stacked up against him, he would be in jail.

I don't blame friends/family for losing patience. Look how long it took for the Sparta women's ex to be arrested...however, let the police do their work.

Chris Crandle needs to stop. I can understand the desire to see justice, but this person has clearly decided what the "truth" is in this case and has gone way over the edge when she says what she did in this article.

I strongly support seeking the truth and bringing the right person to justice, and I applaud anytime someone gets involved in finding the truth, but you cannot both define the truth and then go after someone in this manner. We are a civilized society and must respect the work of law enforcment.

The Sheriff's Deparment has a job to do and they do it well. Let's trust them and hope they are able to bring Renee's killer to justice...

I understand that the family wants justice and are well intended BUT I'm sure they don't want to screw this up! They need to allow the police to do their job and be patient. If you can't be patient ask God to help you be patient but don't, I repeat, don't screw this up. Let them do their job!!!

Yes, Chris may be a little extreme. There is no excuse for breaking the law as alleged. But, Mr Pagel refuses to talk to the detectives. In fact Mr Stanley has not offered an alibi until now. So, is the attention working?... Yes!

Mr Stanley accuses Friends of Renee that they have caused the detectives from finding the real killer. That is not factually accurate. If Mike would have talked within the first couple days they would have looked elsewhere. The fact is that Mr Stanley as Mike's well paid, skilled attorney has caused a terrible delay if Mike is innocent. If Mike only spoke to the detectives, this could have been avoided. Any reasonable person, even if he hated his wife, would clear his name and try to help his children heal. He refuses to do this, and leaves everyone with the fact that this is not the behavior of an innocent man.

Sadly missed, is that friends of the Pagels would be as zealous in finding the killer if it were Mike that was murdered and Renee refused to talk.

Mr. Stanley, have Mike talk to the police. If he is innocent the detectives will quickly regroup. Of course, he has the right to not say a word. You know that this leaves Mike looking guilty. And of course the media, Renee's family and friends will make reasonable inferences based on that.

No matter what Mike does/does not say will not avoid the inevitable. Renee's children will have some tough questions for Mike, and a well paid attorney will not do him any good.

I think if I were in the same situation I would not talk to the police. While I respect the authorities, there are plenty of innocent people in jail...mr. Pagel is clearly going to be suspect number one.

I was personally troubled by the man arrested for killing his wife in Sparta. Our elected, well respected prosecutor, did not feel there was enough evidence to proceed with charges...Our elected always self promoting Attorney General decided otherwise and did so on the same evidence.

Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and while they should be encouraged to state their opinions, this group needs to keep some perspective.

The public face of this effort has actually suggested in her comments she knows better than anyone and is now working to save this man's soul. This lady needs to stop and turn the effort over to someone else. The effort needs to be to get to the truth, it is not her place to judge anyone and demand confession.

As a vicitm of a false accusation of "stalking" and harassment, I can understand where Mr. Pagel's family is coming from, but the spouse or former spouse of a murder victim is usually the prime suspect.

Hey Bushwacker, you aren't being stalked. Are you still angry because the receipt checking granny in front of the Walmart watched you stuff the Larry the Cable Guy dvd into your coat?

She's not stalking you-she just watched the alarm go off. Ya see they put these little security strips on their dvd's. Pssst- I hear you can make a lot of money on those Toshiba HD Players. If you are going to mess with the receipt lady you might as well go for the gold.

Whatever you do don't make her mad- granny will kick your butt.

Want good pizza- FrankieStanleys.com . Come get our "August Special"- hit and run. We deliver to Prudenville **ba da bum**

And if you were the suspect in your spouse's murder but no one could prove it should they bother you, too? Does this woman have some proof no one else does???????? He has not been proven guilty, leave him alone.

As described by court documents and Woodtv 8. Mr Pagel asks for a divorce (she did not want it. Instead of getting a house, a wife to support him (alimony), the kids, and "stuff" the judge rips him a new one and gives him none of this and states, "get a better job."
And just before it is finalized... "Ummm I would like to file for an extension." A day later, Renee is dead. He gains everything he lost...
Chris embarrasses some of us, and she needs to get a grip on her mouth. The fact is that there is way too much violence towards women in our community. Obey the law. Keep the posters up, and don't forget about this. If you know something get with the detectives. If you have survelance cameras and you back up the data(in the Rockford area) call the sheriff. A high paid attorney can not help his client out-maneuver evidence... even if he learns something from CSI. Many of the businesses in Rockford have survelance- do you have this backed up? If so, look at it, maybe you can help.
So help! Look thru your videos (if you have survelance). Were you building a house in the area? How about in the area where his mom lived? Do you have cameras? Maybe a sloppy backup of your computer where you might have something like this? Get with Detective Johnson with this information.

I have no reltionship to anyone in this case. I applaud those who are getting the word out on this case, but breaking the law only stoops to the level of the criminal, regardless of who the actual criminal is.

I have no opinon here in terms of guilt. Clearly the Prosecutor and police do not have enough to make the arrest and they know more than everyone, including the leader of this group.

It distracts from the case when people act out and harrass. I can understand the desire to see justice done, but what if they are wrong?????

Just like the murder suspect, who is innocent until proven guilty, aren't these "friends" innocent until proven guilty????? I applaud them for their persistence in keeping this in the public eye. If you read the articles on the Pagel case, you consistently see that the police also applaud their efforts.

While we do have a legal system that will take care of this, are we not to use our common sense any more? Certainly friends and police would not speak out unless they knew something that the rest of us in the public is not aware of...although looking at the entire picture, it seems pretty conclusive. For instance, why has the suspect's family not helped to find the murderer? Why is the deceased's family having to appeal to the court system to have visitation rights to the children? Why is the suspect moving from place to place and keeping the children from any former contacts? What about the hatred that is clearly documented by Mr. Pagel toward his wife? And what about the timing of the divorce being delayed...only after he found out that his wife got the much better end of the deal??? What about the comments to friends that if something happens to her, to look to Michael? Have we not been seeing a trend of this spousal killing? How often do we see a situation like this--so contentious--and find that the killer is a complete stranger?????

Can we think back to OJ...do we want another murderer walking around who has been declared "innocent"? A sure sign that this legal system we rely so heavily upon is not without fault.

And if the man did not do it? Then what? You have put him and Renee Pagel's kids though hell because of unproven innuendo.

I would rather 1000 OJ's go free than 1 person go to prison for crime he or she did not commit. How many people have we seen go free in the past couple of years, freed by DNA.

I would hope the effort by these people would be about finding the murderer. One gets the idea they seek information, they are looking for the truth...but let's revisit the story for Chris Chrandle's quote, "We ultimately want him, Mr. Pagel, to confess and repent not only for his own sake, but for the sake of his children," Crandle said, "so that we can see justice and he doesn't serve an eternity in hell."

This lady is not looking for information leading to the arrest, she clearly lays out what she wants is see Mr. Pagel go to jail and save his sould.

What you have to add to your thinking here is this lady is not a family member and even if she were, she does not have complete access to the information the police have. They would never release everything to her.

So how dare her mask her anger at Mr. Pagel in the name of saving his soul when she has judged her fellow human being and may be exactly revenge on him and the children of the victim of this awful crime? Vengence is mine sayeth Chris Chrandle.

She should step out of this and let someone who is dedicated to finding the truth whereever it leads take up the cause. In truth all she does is hurt the cause.

AS for the Court stuff, Mr. Pagel is the father and he has not been charged with a crime. It has to be an awful situation for him and the kids and hopefully in time things get sorted out.

Who knows what happened here, if Mr. Pagel did this, I hope he is brought to justice, but justice is not served by the likes of Chris Chrandle or those who support what she is doing.
