Good grief! I really hope these people have a VERY good reason for being out in this crap! If you dont need to be out, but decide to anyways, you are indangering other drivers plus our law inforcement team that "HAVE" to be out in these conditions! PLEASE just stay home!!

Unfortunately some people don't have a choice not to be out in this. People have to work Have bills to pay & mouths to feed. I had a boss one time Threaten to fire me if if I didn't come in & it was just as nasty out as it is today.

but I agree if you are out just to go shopping or to go visit someone there is something wrong with your head.

If the Sherriff is telling people to stay off the roads and the County road commission is pulling their plows because of the dangerous conditions, a prudent person would conclude that they might want to stay off the roads as well.
Hopefully this isn't a fatality but when they close the highway, it usually means someone has died in the accident.

This may be a little off-base from the original story, but I would like to share a comment.
If you people find it really necessary to get out today and want to ignore the warnings to stay off the roads, PLEASE, for the love of god and fellow man, will you please turn on you're head lights or at least marker and tail lights for others to have a chance to see you. I realize it is broad daylight and you may not need them to see where you are going, but as a courtesy to others out there, give them a chance to at least see you coming especially in these near white out conditions... I jest spent 20 minutes out there making a quick run to the corner gas station to get a gallon of milk for my family and you would not begin to be able to count the number of inconsiderate fools out there that have no lights on, and people wonder why the accidents are popping up everywhere, I wonder how many of these accidents could have been avoided had they seen the other vehicle coming.

Attention morons-----Attention morons

Stay home if you cannot handle driving in this weather. Your errand is not important. Maybe some quality time at home with your family will be good for you.

"Your errand is not important."
I agree.
Ya know, I knew yesterday that today was going to be bad, so when my daughter was in Holland I had her stop at Family Fare and pick up milk so that if we did get snowed in we were set. Do you not listen to the weather report? You decide in the middle of a storm to get out to get milk? or as my brother in law decided this morning he HAD to get out for smokes! You couldn't have done this yesterday? or Friday? Stock up just in case a storm does hit?
Go figure!

Thanks for the comments- I was feeling guilty because I made my 7 year old stay home yesterday instead of driving with her dad from GR to Holland to see a Christmas play. The family is now very upset with me, but I feel like I made the right decision. My daughter's safety will always come first!
