Im sure the display was full of lies about our great German heritage.
I hope GH opens a display that shows the great contributions to society from the early and mid 1900's from Germany, specifically Berlin.
Alot of awsome invention that are still used today were created under Hitler's innovative, passionate leadership for his people.
The Nazi's tried to keep peace and prosparity for the people of there great country.
Pridefully, they stood there ground from the Jewish invasion.
All i hear about is negative history on Nazi Germany.
Society tends to forget that they also did a lot of good as well.

The sad part of what happened to the Jews in Germany is that the Jewish population thought that because they had contributed so much to German society--music, art, medicine, business and finance, and a general concern for the welfare of their neighbors and the country, that they would always be respected; they never expected a Holocaust to happen. When I was growing up, Temple Emanuel was known as the German Temple; when I asked my father what was the reason for this, he replied that Jews who had left Germany under the Nazi rule were part of the congregation.

I would argue that many if not most of those "awesome inventions for his people" would never have been possible without the slave labor of the Jewish people.
I would also argue that hitler's goals had nothing to do with peace. Actually, a big part of his demise was the raiding of the Soviet Union (non peaceful) while having a truce with them.

Please provide some examples of your shining hero that don't involve jewish slaves...

Thanks in advance

Anyone with a grasp of history knows that it wasn't just the Jews that were slaughtered and forced into labor camps, although they were by far the largest number.

You are right; not only the Jews, but also gypsies, clergy, mentally infirm, physically disabled, and anyone who disagreed with Adolph Hitler could find themselves in a concentration camp; a tragic loss of human life who could have benefited mankind for generations to come.

Yesterday, my wife and I went to Holland to view the exhibits; I was curious because I had an occassion to remark to an individual from the Netherlands sometime ago, that the Jewish community owed the Dutch in the Netherlands a debt of gratitude for saving so many Jewish lives during Nazi occupation; he looked at me rather puzzling; he remarked that I really did not understand or know what happened in Holland during Nazi occupation; yesterday, I began to find out about what had befallen the Dutch Jewish Community during World War Two in the Netherlands; 75% of Dutch Jews were murdered; most of the non-Jews did not put up opposition to this, as there were elements in Dutch society which supported the Nazis; when the Jews who survived the concentration camps returned home, they were not greeted with approval in the Dutch community; it was as if the Dutch had a different form of acceptable anti-semitism which they tried to cover up after the war; Corry TenBoom's story and the story of Ann Frank are stories which would divert attention away from the actions of the Dutch community during World War Two; the Dutch have been trying to repair their image since the war as to how they treated their Jewish population in the Netherlands.
