It is always hard to deal with the loss of someone you care about, especially under tragic circumstances such as these. It will be difficult for the team to cope with what has happened and compassion and understanding from others is the first step. If she didn't want to work on Black Friday why didn't she just request it off?

As a former employee, I will tell you that the policy is "everyone works black friday, no matter what". So technically a request off would have been denied. Although, they seem to be selective with who that policy applies to... She was a manager, so she should have expected to be there anyway. I think this lady's mental issues ran a little deeper than dreading black friday.
