Really surpised school was not cancelled today. I took my children home. Better to be safe than sorry. Our children are too precious to take risks. I feel it reflects poorly on the school district not to take better care of the kids.

Mom, I don't blame you one bit for taking them home. I would have done the same thing.

If the school really thought that it was a huge threat, wouldn't you think they would close it?If your worried that HUDSON schools are not taking the best care of your kids, your wrong. I used to attend school by Hudson, and we would always hear "well if we were hudson, we would have money." Hudson is hudson and hudson knows whats best for hudson's children.

If something did happen you wouldn't be saying that. This is our children and MANY parents pulled their children out of school because any threat no matter how small is serious when it comes to kids lives. Trust me alot of parents are very upset at the superintendent. Money has nothing to do with it at all.

I trust the leadership of our school system and our local police to judge when a threat is credible enough to close the schools.

Statistics show that about 1% of people develop schizophrenia, a severe mental illness. Its symptoms typically emerge in young adulthood. In a high school with about 1600 kids, that means we can expect approximately 12-20 kids to be diagnosed eventually with this severe mental illness, whose symptoms can include weird delusions and sometimes violent thoughts.

What surprises me is that this type of threatening note is found so seldom. But most schizophrenics present little or no danger to themselves or others.

are you willing to bet your childs life on that. Statistics have also shown that when these little threatening notes are found and ignored that something usually does end up happenning. better safe than sorry right? although I know we shouldn't over react but when does one really know for sure?

We moved to Twinsburg in 1989 after we got married. We looked around for schools for our future children. I read that there was a sudden rash of gun shot wounds to many teens in Hudson. Self inflected gun shot wounds. It was gang initiation. You had to shoot yourself in order to get into a gang in Hudson. Most kids decided to shoot their own foot, as I recall.
My point is that these were (in my mind) bored rich kids that had no real troubles in life, so they had to manufacture some.
I would not put too much stock in a note left in a parking lot.

Isn't it funny...the people that preached to me that, "I moved to Hudson for the excellent schools," are now wishing they lived somewhere else.

It is such a joke. Hudson Schools are full of entitled brats that have a higher rate of drug use, no respect for others and many, many other social problems. It is what happens when you have kids that have money, no responsibilities at home and parents that are too busy with their six figure income jobs....

A friend of the family had to spend $80,000 to get his son off of drugs. This person also lost $100,000 in selling his house to get out of Hudson. He stated to me, "Moving to Hudson was my biggest mistake in my life."
