As someone who passes through Philmont every day, I hope Baker chooses to defy the order and keeps the slogans up for a while. The same building recently was adorned for several days with large pictures of pumpkins and nobody raised a stink. I'm guessing the message is only perceived as "controversial" by the conservative element of the public, people still in denial about global warming. I wouldn't be surprised if the town's decision to enforce this ordinance so quickly and decisively was politically motivated.

If poster #1 is correct, and I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't right, to a lot of people freedom of expression and speech only goes as far as what they believe in and all else they wish to suppress. I would rather see messages such as this than advertisements for car dealerships or what politician is running for what office.

Based on your theory, when I post things that say global warming is a hoax you will keep your soup cooler shut.

You got that right. No supporting data... it's a marketing scheme to sell BS "green" products. Laughable at best.

I think the people who did that should be charged. There has to be a law against making graffiti. That looked terrible! Do these tree huggers realize how bad the propellant in the paint cans is for the environment?
