I'll say it again, the lack of follow through by the Dracut PD with properly handling the case of the $80,000.00 worth of pot missing from their evidence room; leads to other criminal behavour by trusted city ond town workers. Apparently, not only the cops in Dracut feel that they are above the law.

Why should this woman be charged for the theft of $13,000.00 cash; if the police never charged anyone in the $80,000.00 marajuana theft? What does that mean, the Dracut PD can pick and chose when they are going to procecute theft within city government in Dracut?

Since the Dracut PD has already set the example for all to see; I suggest that no one should be charged with any crime that involves less than $80,000.00. And, no one should be charged with possessing anything less than $80,000.00 in marajuana. At least that way; everyone is playing by the same rules as the cops.........

This is so sad. I cannot beleive she did this. I do not understand how someone can think they will get away with something like this.

What to you mean that you don't understand how someone can think that they can get away with something like this.

Obviously, someone felt that they could steal $80,000.00 worth of pot out of the Dracut PD evidence room and get away with it. And, apparently they were right!

People get away with things that defy logic all the time!

It happens all the time. There was no oversite at all. I feel bad for the kids who will have to suffer both the loss of money, and the fact people will be less likely to contribute.

What she did had nothing to do with the Dracut PD and what happened there. You really need to get a life and get over it. People make choices and she made a bad one for what ever reason. I am sure she wasn't thinking oh let me see the Dracut PD got away with it so why can't I. Really move on and that is all I am going to say about that or to you.

First of all she really should be ashamed of herself and she should be punished. Secondly should the school appoint more than one person to oversee how this money is handled? Yes I think so, Duh!

First of all this is not the Dracut PD. This is a mother who volunteered her time at this school for years. I am shocked over this and very sad to see these children who have worked so hard for their new playground, and now will not see it. And btw what about the other PTO members? Do you really mean to tell me they had no idea this was going on?

That's not even funny. Our children have work very hard at their fundraisers for a new playground. No that dream is gone.

Deputy Police Chief David Chartrand, who said his office was notified of financial discrepancies by members of the PTO on March 20 and launched an investigation.

Please don't blame the rest of the PTO she was caught because of them and I applaud PTO board for bringing this to the police to be investicated. You cannot judge everyone on the board for 1 person adn their actions.

The economy messes with peoples minds and lives. I do not condone what was done. But I will not judge. It is a bad situtation all the way around. I will however pray for her and her family, for the school and all involved, for all the people it has effected. I am proud to still say I have known her for over 25 years. and i KNOW this is not her typical self. with that said. I hope the whole process go through quickly for the sake of all of those involved.

Who are you to judge? You've never been hit with a hard time? You don't have credit dabt? Obviously what she did was wrong, but if your trying to support a family and you're dealing with money, I can understand how and why she was tempted. It's very easy to think that you will pay the money back but you get out of control. That's how people get into credit card problems.. I am not comparing the two, but just tring to see this from a different point of view.

That's the difference between a PTO member and a member of the Dracut PD. A PTO member will report theft by a fellow member to the police. But, apparently members of the Dracut PD report theft by one of their own to nobody. So, they are accomplices to the crime, instead of doing the right thing, and the legal thing.

I want to thank the members of the PTO committee who did the right thing. We need more like you. Have you considered a job with the Dracut PD? There is obviously not enough like you working THERE!

Thanks again, honest PTO people!
