We had a salesman come to our home and sell us a Verizon package that had TV, internet, and phone service. What he didnt tell us is that Verizon TV service isnt available in this area, and they have contracted with DirecTv to provide the TV portion of their "great package". DirecTv showed up and stuck a dish on the side of our house, and we now have satellite TV service, which isnt anything we would ever have knowingly signed up for. Now, whenever it rains or snows, we cant watch TV because the precipitation interferes with the TV signal. The other day, our TV signal went out when there was a sever storm in Worcester !! It wasn't even raining here ! When the fast talking sleazy Verizon salesman comes to your house to sell you the Verizon Fios TV service, don't sign up for it. Its not available in this area, the sleazy salesman is going to conveniently "forget" to mention it, and you will end up with a satellite dish that doesn't work 3 or 4 times a month.
When the guy came to the house to install the dish, I told him that we had no idea that we were getting satellite TV or a dish bolted to the side of our house, and he said that NO ONE in our area had been told ahead of time that the Fios service was not actually part of the package and that they would be getting this crappy service instead of a reliable cable signal. Remember, if you live in this area, a TV service that cuts out when it rains or snows is NOT a good idea, and it should be avoided. Of course, the salesman knew that, which is why he "forgot" to mention that fact that his plan didn't include the cable that was in the sales brochure, it was a dish instead.
