The citizens of this county are appreciative of the good job the county commissioners have done. Their hard work and efforts have paid off and soon the displaced workers from the furniture industry abandonment, will have new, better paying jobs with great benefits. Don't pay attention to those naysayers that are trying to discourage people from being optimistic about this huge development. To be included is Sheriff Clark for all the work he and his office have done to cleanse this county of its criminal element. The public will not listen to the little group of pessimists that seem to group around the pocket book of Terry Harris. They want you to think that this county is in bad shape and you should replace the Sheriff and the commissioners. Well, it just don't make sense. There is a large, profitable, stable and reputable company coming in the near future to provide better jobs than those lost and crime and drugs are down and Sheriff Clark is to thank for that. Doesn't sound like we are going down the drain, sounds like we have survived what the liberals did to us in years past......liberals brought you NAFTA.....democrats from the old administrations brought you a crime wave. Both issues have been adequately dealt with by conservatives and Republicans. Vote Republican, the conservative choice.....

What a crock! Conservative??? Bush has given us the highest deficiet in history. He has spent billions on a war where we see no end. Halliburton (Cheney's friends) have taken a huge junk of that money and in most cases bilking the government and therefore the U.S. taxpayers. If Bush is a conservative, then Tim Sanders is Shirley Temple in disguise. Look at what the sheriff has cost taxpayers for totally unnecessary things and who hands out that money like its their own...the county commissioners! Mrs. Higgins should substain from voting on giving any monies to the sheriff dept. since it a total conflict of interest since the sheriff employs her husband and step-son. You go ahead and believe Repubs have been conservative...the majority of taxpayers disagree and that is who counts at the polls.

Your less than impressive tirade shows more and more desperation. Your chances of Harris winning in November is slightly better than you actually writing a post without grammatical errors in it. You defend Clinton and persecute Bush, but when it comes to honesty and morality, at least Bush is honorable. Clinton and your dem party believe in adultery, abortion, legalizing drugs, NAFTA, gay marriage and giving criminals a soft shoulder to cry on. I will take the side of someone that believes in God, and not just during an election year, fights those who want to kill us, is tough on criminals and puts traditional family values in the forefront.

Well I'm a republican but never would I vote for Clark and if you are a military supporter and support those who fight those who want to kill us then you wouldn't either.

I hope you realize that every-time you post, others read and know that you are impaired and ignorant. I hear the community college offers some English, Grammar and Literature classes. Maybe that will take your mind off the fact that Sheriff Clark will win in November.

Can we keep the Clark Harris stuff in one forum instead of in everyone on here? Good grief! I was hoping to read about others opinions about the LACK of jobs in Caldwell county. If the stupid temp. agencies would stop hiring illegial people there would be more jobs. YEh, that is right! Companies in our county hire illegials through temp agencies so when they are investigated by the government they will not be fined for hiring illegials, the temp agencies will.( I guess) Although there isn't a single employer that doesn't know this but they are getting away with it. What can we do, I think we should start turning them all in. As for you Mr. or Mrs. Reciprocity, do you enjoy making fun of people like a 2 year old????? This isn't a class room and you are probably not a teacher so lay off!

Since this forum is on jobs in the area I have to say this: NAFTA caused the furniture industry to move to China. Who signed NAFTA? It was not Bush Sr. or GWB. IT was Clinton. The conservative presidents didn't send our jobs away.

I agree with you Sour Grapes. We have to look to the morals of who we follow. We have to be strong or our oppressors will take over our country. I am glad we have a strong president who will stand up for the our country and protect us instead of being spineless and allowing our enemies to intimadate us. War is a terrible thing. Ihave a second cousin over in Afganistan. He is fighting so his little girl and the rest of us will be able to live in freedom. I love our country and pray for our troops and President Bush everyday.

LMiller: You seem to conveniently forget that what Clinton signed was backed by Bush Sr. and sent by the Republican controlled Congress. You also seem to forget that GWB signed fast track. What do you think about CAFTA which was signed and promoted by GWB? Lets not get into the morals game.
When Bush led us into war, he lied to Congress and the American people. Lets talk protection. Bush administration had no game plan for Iraq. Therefore, we have spent billions and lost many lives because of it. Instead of protecting and policing the borders to keep insurgents out, they protected the oil wells. Morals? It seems to me there were a lot of immoral Republicans brought down during the Clinton administration, remember? Did you forget Bush's good buddy Ken Lay or the other corrupt ones that Bush has surrounded himself with? He thinks he is above the constitution of the U.S. What about what Hallyburton (Cheney's former company) and what they have gotten by with? I am a Democrat and proud of it. To say that Democrats believe in adultry is so ignornant on your part. Guess there are adulters in the Repub party...hummm. The Republicans have used abortion as a political ploy for years. Yet in all the years that we have had a Republican controlled Congress, nothing has changed re abortion. Dems do not believe in abortion. They believe in the right to choose as is provided by law. The statement re criminals is also so ignorant. You state that you will take the side of someone who believes in God. Well...guess that means you will take the side of many Democrats. To make a blanket statement infering that Dems do not believe in God shows how narrow minded and ignorant you all. Your Republican proproganda is getting tiresome even to many, many of your fellow Republicans. I, too, support our troops and pray for them. You really can support our troops without supporting their commander in chief. One last question...what has Bush done about jobs lately?

Bush , Carter, Ford , Reagan and Clinton all stood together for NAFTA. I remember it. Clinton went against his own party on NAFTA . I am Old but I ain't old enough that I forgot that, It was the only time I saw Clinton stand against the democrats in Congress. It was Definatly A republican thing.

Try this site ( http://www.halliburton.com/careers/ ).Just so you know you have posted in a forum located in a place with no jobs.I do not know if you realize it or not but we bombed Libya in 1986 and are not on the best terms.
Just a thought to ponder.

I don't understand our gov't??? We send jobs away (EVEN the service jobs!!??) We let employers (want employers) hire illegals....where are jobs for those 50 -70 yr olds??? Or any other legal American??!!! Caldwell County is right up there with all the other greedy employers??!!! I heard of a man picketing in front of Home Depot, I'm trying to find him and go with him!! We have to start doing something to show we WON'T keep putting up with it!!! Not all, but MOST illegals (Mexicans, Asians, etc.) take out of the system, and what do they put back??!!! Wal Mart specials??!! I just DO NOT understand!
