Fire burns 13 acres in Adams County

State Department of Natural Resources fire response personnel expect to be at the scene of a weekend wildfire in Adams County for the next few days.

Our cabin is about 1 1/2 miles from the fire. A DNR forest ranger stopped to tell us that the fire is burning in the peat in the marsh making it very hard to extinguish. The extreme drought and difficult access to the fire also have made control difficult. Would you be criticising the DNR if your house and forest land were near that fire? Incidentally, trespassers on ATVs are thought to have started the fire.
