I just question why these animals were removed or so-called "rescued." From the video, they look relatively healthy and looked after. Now they may face death because this "shelter" cannot house them all. Does this make any sense whatsoever?

I'll preface this with the fact I love animals and have a large Maine Coon Cat-Mix and would love to have another cat; although I hve a relatively large apartment, keeping-up with one cat that has more layers of fur than other cats is enough on it's own. Now I respond to original poster: Does it make sense to have 31 let alone 131 dogs and cats when you well-know that they are not getting personalized loving care, whether you say they look healthy or otherwise? The Shelter stated they all had fleas AND RINGWORM, which is not a worm at all, rather it is a FUNGAL INFECTION THAT'S HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS--to all the other animals AND also to humans. Also, with THT many cats, one would need to make whole basement one big litterbox! With that much pet fecal mess, there's also the Public Health Hazard of MRSA/Staph and Toxoplasmosis. This is a classic animal hoarding case and it's sad that the animals have been the one's to suffer while someone else tries to fill an empty void of love in their psyche by acquiring more and more animals. In order to properly feed and change litter for just that many cats per month would be astronomical, let alone cost of maintaining that number of dogs! Those animals were essentially being kept in an overcrowded prison and if you know anything about cats alone, they are highly territorial and something is not quite right when one even gets to number 12 cats without respecting the natural need of space. Just like an aquarium--you don't place 131 angel fish in a 5 gallon tank do you? What does not make any sense whatsoever is your critical thinking skills and pray you do not have any animals because it sounds like you would not even consider a flea infestation as something to deal with. Don't let those bed bugs bite tonight!! Ignorance is truely bliss for some apparently!

having lived next to an animal hoarder, i can just imagine the stench coming from that place, there is no way they can keep up with caring for that many animals aside from maybe food and water. the animal resource center was the only ones that would do something about that place, the city of dayton pretended it wasn't happening and the humane society claimed they were too busy. how many of these animals were licensed? how many had the required by law shots? how many were spayed/neutered? my guess to all of the above is NONE.
