Exactly, I've been working for AFRL for 4 years and I think I'm the only one that doesn't have a relative working there. So typical.

Isn't this the Utica-Rome way? Has nothing to do with Obama, but a whole lot to do with the culture of the region. Someone needs to sweep it clean....has only ensured that idiots keep rising to the top. Most peculiar manifestation of it that I've ever seen.

In 1993 Darleen Druyun was investigated for her involvement in a plan to speed up payments by the Air Force to McDonnell Douglas. [1] Although several other people involved were discharged, Druyun kept her position. In 2000 Druyun sent the resumes of her daughter, a recent college graduate, and her daughter's fiancé, a published PhD Aeronautical Engineer, to Boeing and both were hired. [2] Although this was a conflict of interest, it was not illegal. After leaving the Air Force in 2003 she took a job with Boeing at an annual salary of $250,000 [3] She also received a $50,000 signing bonus.

In December 2003, the Pentagon announced the project was to be frozen while an investigation of allegations of corruption by Druyun (who had moved to Boeing in January 2003) was begun. Druyun pleaded guilty to inflating the price of the contract to favor her future employer and to passing information on the competing Airbus A330 MRTT bid (from EADS). In October 2004, she was sentenced to nine months in jail for corruption, fined $5,000, given three years of supervised release and 150 hours of community service. She began her prison term on January 5, 2005. [5] She was released from prison on September 30, 2005. The ramifications extended to Boeing CFO Michael M. Sears, who was fired from Boeing, and Boeing CEO Phil Condit resigned. On February 18, 2005, Sears was sentenced to four months in prison. Boeing ended up paying a $615 million fine for their involvement. [6] According to The Federal Times, Darleen Druyun will still be receiving a federal[7]

Rome labs always did their own thing. The Directors of AFRL Rome have always been local boy's, except for the last on Davy who was a zero. The division chiefs at Rome ran the place and still do. Rome has been the wild child of AFRL.

Last year when headquarters was discussing moving Rome labs to Dayton the division chiefs contacted their senator and told her about the plans. She called general pawlikowski and told her " if you want your third star you better drop the plan to move Rome". The Romans laughed their asses off when the general backed down

The Rome labs us never had to take an assignment or sign a mobility agreement to get promoted beyond a 14. If you work in Dayton, you must do both to get promoted.

So where are the names? are you saying a lot of lab employee spouses work at BAE British Aerospace and Engineering? I know of one division chief at Rome Labs that has a spouse at BAE. Her husband works for them. Of course doesn't have anything to do with his hiring. The other division chief at Rome lab does. The play the game of you hire my spouse and Ill hire yours. There is a lot of this S#@T going on there. That place has been run by locals since the 70's.

you cant stop it if the leadership of the lab promotes it. one division chief Joe Camera funds a contractor that hires another chiefs (Margot Ashcroft) husband then Margot turns around and funds a contract with Joe's wife on it. irs all legal. lol
