One bit of evidence that the Tea Party has caught on is ol Harry Reid pulling the Omnibus Spending bill. It was beginning to look like the healthcare debate all over again with Harry ramming an unpopular bill down the throats of the American people. Since it was a spending bill not subject to fillibuster he could have easily done so; yet, Democrats, and please, let me repeat that again for those who try to discredit the Tea Party as some sort of Republican shill - DEMOCRATS from Red States or swing states who heard the voters and told Harry they could not support his monstrosity. You see, while some may not support the Tea Party per se they agree with many of its precepts, enough so that Harry couldn't do his will one last time. Personally I will fell a great relief when this Congress adjourns. At 13% approval rating, they need to leave ASAP

Yep, they had requested them before the election - and then they read the "Tea Leaves". After the election, Republicans had agreed to suspend earmarks and decided to vote against this monstrosity for that reason.

Thank god for this first step towards sanity. We need to stay on top of these people and overhaul the system. Tax changes need to be made permanent so people and business can plan for the future a few years out. No more last minute emergency pork barrel negotiations holding everyone hostage.
