This explains the 30% residential electric increase scheduled for Febuary 2009. This would be at the Peak of the Maine winter heating season.

They are removing two large dams. Installing a small one that was abandoned due to poor performance. This will give a net loss of approximately 30% of the local hydro electric generating capacity. Sad.

All because no one can design a working fish ladder.
