"I'm not going to spend $1,000 a year to buy bags for dog poop," Johnson bellowed as he got wound up on an impressive rant. "It's not the taxpayer's duty to put up bags so dog owners will clean up."

Good for you, Mr. Johnson. Now if the rest of the county (and national) governments would start looking at some of the "little things" there might be a chance the taxes could go down (a little bit anyway).

$15 million for a Park in Umatilla....??

And yet to get "our" park done in Mount Plymouth ... we have to sell half our land to the school board and have a school placed there.... just to get the money to finish the park...?!

Where/how can Mount Plymouth and Sorrento get some of that money for a full sized, completely outfitted park?

How about if they carry their own bags and take care of their own dog poo. Why should everyone, including non-dog owners, pay for dog owner's poo bags?

Too bad there has been talk about cutting fire and emergency services, while spending $15 million on the park in Umatilla.

Instead of considering that $15 million is a lot of money to spend on a park, thoughts go to how other areas can get equal treatment.... you've got yours, now I want mine.

Maybe this has contributed to how our taxes got out of control.

amen to freds position. now if only we could get the remaining 3 Lake Co commissioners to quit wasting taxpayers dollars with unneeded bureaucratic positions that Cindy Hall has createdwith their permission/direction. Not to mention the thousands of dollars their staff wastes by buying overpriced yet inferior goods. Ditto to the school superintendents staff as well. Until any and all govt entities start acting with sound fiscal practices, they will not get my support nor the support of many others like me for any tax or fee increases.

I get my poo bags from my local newspaper being delivered. I am recycyling and saving the taxpayers of Lake County while I am at it.
Aren't I a good guy??
