The only for sale sign that I saw on a candidates front lawn was Mr. Newman about 8 months ago.

Dear GOP - let's not get too overjoyed. Last night was a fluke. In 3 years Obama will be on the ticket and the Dems will come out in force for that. Mr. Newman will be a one term wonder when a Presidential election will bring out ALL of the voters.

Mr. Newman should make the most of his 3 years because that is all he will get.

I will say anytime a GOP wins in freehold its a fluke! I believe Newman will do a good job as long as theres seperation from miller. If he stays tight with miller he stands no chance. Millers on his high horse today but the fact remains, he lost! even with Christie leading the way in monmouth county, miller still couldnt pull it out, close miller but not enough! know will you be leaving freehold alone

I am not levine and you seem like a fairly poor revisionist historian whoever you may be.

Levine still has many friends and they all stand with him believing that a dirty campaign was waged with hate filled emails sent out to a list of people around town, including me! That's right, I got mine and it was disgraceful to read what Mr. Sullivan wrote to try and steal the election.

Mentioning the hoped for exodus of Levine's friends in your comment to me is very telling, Mr. Sullivan. You must fancy yourself as a one man wrecking crew and seem to be very proud of that.

You and whatever vermin agrees with you are all fortunate to wage your guerilla war in a GOP year. You aimed your bullet at the Dems strongest candidate when you got the chance. You left one less formidable candidate standing and believe you can defeat her in the future, if the lady doesn't retire first.

Levine still got 1100 votes in a bad year for Dems all over the county. No one trounced anyone in the slim margin horse race, so please try not to brag too much. Millers votes were all for the huge R on his rear and very few for himself. And, the R's made sure his vote totals fell short of a victory.

I wish Mr. Newman all the best. I understand from those who know him fairly well that he distanced himself as much as he could from his running mate and the games played.

Phil, excellent points! I agree with everything you said. i too have emails from miller and sullivan. I believe newman did his best to try to distance himself from ted and i believe he will continue to do so

as much as i disagreed with marc levine in the past, he did some really good things in the past couple of years. i think that he deserved to win, but the majority of the public felt different..i am hoping that mr. newman will do a good job, and most of all i hope that he just doesn't go along with mayor wilson and his hateful politics which has been a disaster for our town........

I agree Jerry. The left is just as much to blame as the right for the LeVine loss. Where were the Dems who came out last year to vote? Obama can't do it by himself.
